Well, the story is I'm going to Boston & New York with my mum in coming May...
For just 1 week (I know, it's too short!)..

So 1 of my friend suggested that I should take orders from friends/colleagues to help them buy branded stuff back from US.
And from there, I can get some sort of commission?
Well, it's actually more like the transportation/accomodation/luggage fees to me...
Just wanna earn a little to be my shopping funds for souvenirs & goodies.
I heard before many ppl do so, and buy really good stuff as souvenirs for their family & friends!

So I give it a thought...
Following questions popped up:

1. US sales tax is not refundable, for bags & wallets. For clothes & shoes is those above $175 (Boston) & $110 (New York) will charge sales tax.
So I can't earn from VAT refund, where should I earn? By marking up a %?

2. I definitely have limited funds for shopping (for myself), so I'm planning to collect money first for the things they confirmed wanna buy.
Should I collect in RM or USD? How to convert to RM if it's RM?

3. Personally prefer not to use credit cards, due to the ex rate unknown at the point u swipe, unless there's specific promotions or extra discounts attached with usage of credit cards.
Would it be better to shop with cash or card?

4. My first luggage is FOC (attached with air ticket), but 2nd luggage would be $40/bag.
If due to buying stuff for friends couldn't fit in luggage, but have to get another luggage, how?!!

5. Receipts! That's the scary part if the custom caught you.. But if it's not your own goodies, of course it's better to keep the price tags there.
How to avoid from having caught by the custom??

Hopefully there are kind ppl out there who went through this shopping in US thingy to help me out..
Any shopping tips or sightseeing tips would be great!!

The puppies are already vaccinated, fred not...
