Condition 9/10 - you can see from the pictures that the back of the trousers shows barely any sign of wear and tear.

Any idea what they are launching ?
It is surprisingly low profile as usually there are a lot of activities and press teasers but this time no news at all.
Even the invitation card just say Launch Event.

Need Help

Hi everyone, I need some expert advise.
I bought a display unit Wharfdale GX10 sub from Desa over the weekend.
Hooked it up to my Marantx SR5007 and used Audyssey to set up.
The Audyssey could not detect the Wharfedale sub woofer.
I put back my KEF sub and it can detect, no problem.
So I'm sure the connection is correct.
I put the volume of the Wharfedale sub to middle, Phase to 0 and also tried 180.

When I play movies or songs though I can feel the Wharfedale sub speaker moving (its downward firing)
Is there something wrong with the Wharfedale sub ?
I called Desa but as usual they were not really helpful.
I always go back there anyway as their prices is cheaper than other places.

Any ideas ?

Setting up sound system

Hi
I need to set up a sound system for a meeting room.
Used for presentations and perhaps pay some videos.
Meeting room size is about 40' x 60' - seats 80 pax.
What equipment do I need ?
1. Amplifier
2 Wireless mic
3. Is 4 speakers sufficient ? These should be 2 way speakers ?
4. Do I need a mixer ?
Last but not least where can I get such equipment and any branch to introduce ?
Budget about RM 10k.

Teak wood furniture

I'm thinking of using teakwood or other hard wood for most of the furniture in my new house.
This means dining table and chairs, low cabinets, sofas, beds and bedside table.
Plus a few other decorative items.
I went to Aunthentic teak and it cost a bomb.

Has anyone imported any teak wood furniture directly from Bali ?
How much cheaper would it be ?
Is it difficult to get a freight forwarder to handle ?
What would the tax be like ?

Appreciate some help here.

Apple TV

I bought the Apple TV 4G a few months ago.
Been using 3G for 2 years without problems.
On Thurs when I wanted to use the Apple TV this message came out

Obviously I don't have a type C cable as this is something new to me.
Anyway, I went to Apple reseller in Pavillion and they do sell USB type C cable for RM 139.
But it is type C to type C
What I need is type C to type A. Type A is the normal USB you have on your computer or laptop.
I asked the sales guy which laptop is using the USB type C and he told me only the 2015 MacBook.
The sales guy told me to go to Apple service centre for help.
So I went to the one in Berjaya Times Square and they told me they don't have the cable and I should complain to Apple International as they can't help me.
I then went to another Apple reseller at Lowyat and fortunately, they do sell a type C to type A cable and it cost RM 89.

I am amazed that Apple came out with a product without supplying the proper cable for technical use which seems to be quite a common issue since the pay have a trouble shoot section on this.
So customers has to fork out more RM for it.
Apple encourages customers to use only original Apple products ( which I always do except for headphones ) and yet they do not produce the appropriate cables where 99.99999% of customers own laptops and desktops with Type A USB.
Is Apple expecting everyone to buy the 2015 MacBook just because they have an Apple TV 4G ?

Anyway I have set it up now and it's working again,
Took a few hours as everything is lost and you have to download all apps again.

I've been using iPhones since iPhone 3.
Thinking of moving to Samsung Note 5.
Moving from iPhone to iPhone is simple because I just synchronise to my lap top and the data eg phone contacts, photos, songs etc appear on the new phone.
How do I transfer data to Samsung without keying in all over again ?

75" - 79" TV

I'm thinking of buying a 75" or thereabouts TV.
Currently using Samsung 55" which appears smaller each time I come back from Harvey Norman or Best.
I am sitting about 9' away from the TV.
I did think about a projector and screen but decided not to go that way because I watch TV in my living room - no room for dedicated TV room. Also I don't want things hanging from my ceiling.

I have been using Samsung for many years but upon checking the prices, the ones above 75" with 3D is very expensive - close to RM 30k and I can't afford to pay that much for a TV.

I looked at LG and I can get the model 79UF950T for RM19,999 and it comes with Jaya Jusco RM 500 voucher.

I know one of the difference is Samsung uses active 3D glasses which is expensive whereas LG uses passive ones which is cheap. But not a problem for me as I already have many pairs of Samsung glasses.
Als LG speakers are by Harman Kardon and is 5.1 so it wins hands down over Samsung for sound. But it does not matter to me at all because I don't use the TV speakers - mine is connected to the AV all the time via a single HDMI cable.

Would anyone here know which is the better TV or there isn't much difference anyway ?

Appreciate some advise. Have checked the Internet but there is only comparison between 2014 models where LG may lose out slightly.
But if it is not noticeable to my untrained eye, the RM 10k savings is worth it.

GLASS PANEL ON WALL

I am thinking of installing 2 large piece of white glass on my dining room wall.
The wall is 13' width and 9' height.
Anyone knows how they will stick the glass on the wall ?
It will be frameless.
One contractor told me i need a plywood base and another said can just stick it with some silicon stuff.
Plywood may attract termites whilst silicon stuff may risk it dropping.

Also should I use tempered or laminated glass ?
Of oourse tempered and laminated is best but it will be very expensive.

Hiding cables for home entertainment system

Help needed

I have been using the SR for 2 years plus now.
All of a sudden something went wrong ie it automatically switches itself off after 10 sec.
I have to unplug leave it for a while and it can be switched on again. Then after 10 s it goes off again.
Has anyone experience this problem or can advise what I can do ?
I have also tried changing the fuse at the plug head but same thing.

I want to upgrade to a mobile PA system with mixer hence selling this one.
It was seldom used and very good condition with no damage or scratches.
Even when used it was never turned on loud.
You only need to buy the microphones if you already have the blueray, DVD and TV.
Wired microphones should cost less than RM 100.

If you have friends and family over for chinese new year, this will be a fun thing to do at home.

Increase in net income

Yay, just checked my bank account.
For Jan 2015, my net income paid to me by my company is higher despite there being no increment yet - increment is April.
Due to the GST, income tax monthly deduction has reduced
So I now have more disposable income.
Of course in future I have to pay GST but I think I will still be better off with GST.

I seldom use this belt as I have other belts for daily use. Bought from Hermes Pavillion.
Looking to sell by 30th Dec to enable me to buy a new belt on 31st Dec.
Their price goes up again on 1st Jan.
As can be seen from the pictures, condition is very good.
For the used belt there is barely any crease which indicates that it is not regularly used.
Or you can choose to have a new leather belt of your size and colour.
This will come from the new Hermes belt I will be buying.
Price is fixed.
It took me 2 years to wait for this stock to arrive in Hermes Pavillion and during the 2 years I tried looking for it in Singapore, Hong Kong but none was available.

Ampang Hilir Happenings

As most people will know by now, ISKL will be moving to Ampang Hilir.
The signboard for "bantahan" has already been up for 2 months.
I was jogging this morning and came across some men measuring the roads behind Great Eastern Mall.
Asked them what project they are involved in and they said it is the road connecting Jelatek and Kampung Pandan and it will take 3 years to complete.
Guess there will be a lot of construction happening in Ampang Hilir soon and this will cause a big jam here.
Depending on how high the flyover (or it might be underground) will be I wonder if the value for Ampang Hilir Tara, Wickham Manor, M Suites and a few others around the flyover will be impacted.
Sri Henning won't be impacted on market value since it cannot be sold individually but the rental may be impacted ?
The plus point however is that with ISKL, it might help prop up the price a bit ?
Problem with property around this area is that the floor space is quite big ( other than M Suites ) and at RM 1k per square feet, it cost a few millions to purchase a unit.
I wonder how many units in this area is actually occupied or rented out.

I have a Sparco helmet which I bought about 5 years ago.
The sponge inside falling apart.
Just the top part. The sides no problem.
Anyone knows if this can be repaired and if so where ?
I would very much like to repair instead of buying a new one as this helmet is initialed by Kimi Raikonnen when he was racing for Lotus.

Blue ray to Karaoke

Hi everyone, need some help here
I just bought a Samsung Blueray player.
It has HDMI and and optical output.
But my Karaoke player only has analogue input.
Is there such a thing as optical to analogue cable ?
Or do I need a converter ?
I checked my Samsung TV and it does not have analogue output so I can't connect via HDMI from blue ray to TV and audio from TV to Karaoke.
Thanks for any suggestions.

PS previous Samsung blue ray no problem because it has analogue output bu deadly the player is spoilt.

Queen Size Bedframe

Bought a new bed so want to get rid of the old one.
Bought from Ikea a few years ago.
Queen size without mattress.
Give away but you have to transport yourself.
It will fit into your salon car with the rear seats folded down.
I will dismantle tonight so anyone who wants it can collect tomorrow ( preferably ) or Monday night latest.
New bed arriving on Monday so if nobody wants it I will ask the lorry driver to take it away.
