Hi all the sifus and IBankers on this forum, I've been reading around for threads on IB and I noticed that discussions on CF/ECM and Research are gaining more traction and responses, whereas there's been little attention on DCM landscape in Malaysia. I'd appreciate if someone could possibly shed some light on DCM industry and its career insights.

Maybe some ideas to start off, e.g.:
1. Career opportunities and qualifications/skills needed, whether CFA or freshies, VBA/advanced quantitative knowledge etc.
2. Insights such as, working hour, job nature, whether the salary & bonus are as rewarding as CF/research...
3. IBs of priority. ( I understand Cimb, RHB, Maybank etc. are the major players, but are the situations same for both DCM and ECM?)
4. Career progression and transferability of skill set. (the reason behind this question is, A career starting in ECM would undoubtedly open up myriad possibilities in the future, e.g. Asset/fund management, CF/treasury in corporates, or investment skills for self-trading. Just wonder how the situation is for DCM career?
5. Hypothetically, if I realized DCM was not as glamorous as I thought it to be, and decided to move to ECM, would my experience and exposure in DCM be valued and improve my employability?
6. Any other valuable opinions or constructive advice?

I've researched some understanding on the field, but I believe you people in the industry can definitely provide us with better illustrations on DCM scene in Malaysia and clear the air for fellow job hunters!
