Beware of unknown Facebook friend requests

You see, what I found out was that on many online news portal, there are some who will suddenly make a racist statement. And inadvertently it'll link to some fake Facebook account. There were a case in Sabah where the fake Facebook and the real account had the same name, but different schools and all. Plus the fake account will be created recently all for the sake of inciting racial hatred.

If you have someone unknown who adds you, they might use a few of your photos to start a fake account and make it look legit. Please be careful. If you really want to be safe, get off FB

iOS 8 - high data usage for iPhone 6 :(

Hey guys! If you've been following my threads, you would know that I'm a new iPhone 6 user, having graduated from a Samsung and iPad as the iPhone fulfils the gap.

You see, I was downloading my ebooks on wifi, whereby there was a faulty ebook that kept trying to re-download itself as it keeps failing after awhile.

And I fell asleep... Having woken up, I glanced at the phone for notifications and suddenly, it said I blew through 75% of my quota! Then I looked at DiGi's OCS and found that I actually blew through 86% of my quota. And knowing DiGi, their reloads are a pain in the bum compared to Maxis and Celcom.

I then went online and found that the iOS 8 is faulty and will sometimes say it is on wifi, but still use your cellular data.

Sigh

Just wondering what are your top ten list of apps for your iPhone. Of course you can't say Safari or Pages, but third party apps. Any ideas? Perhaps I can compile the list after awhile, to help new iPhone users

Let's try to not put up social media apps like Facebook, Wechat, Skype, Twitter, WhatsApp and the likes. Those are platforms that almost everyone installs. Am really looking for top ten apps that people use.

1) Pleco - The best mandarin dictionary available. You can even use the optical character recognition to scan newspapers!

2) DayOne - the best diary available. Take photos and write your journal before you forget your sweet memories

3) Tapatalk - The best forum app in the market. Unfortunately, Lowyat doesn't work with Tapatalk

4) Simplenote - Owned by Wordpress, easily the best note app around with cloud storage. Evernote's too complex for
simple note taking

5) Way Of Life - Looking to break or make a habit (like going to the gym daily?) Get Way of life. Highly rated app for habit making

6) Anki - Flashcards if you want to memorise something. Currently using it for my mandarin learning

7) VSCOCam - Best camera app for the iPhone with numerous gorgeous classic filters

8) You Need A Budget - Find yourself running out of money before the end of the month? Get YNAB to help with your budgeting and accounts!

9) Soulver - The best calculator app out there

Standalone Cameras Dying

As above. The latest figures by CIPA, the Camera Imaging Photography Association which covers all Japanese camera makers, reported a huge drop in sales for two years in a row. Camera shops are suffering from reduced sales. The Asian market dropped by 67% (if you minus China and India).

With shops catering to DSLR seemingly on the end of their life soon, just wondering if you will still upgrade your DSLR/mirrorless cameras regularly? Read more on the article below. Appreciate your thoughts!

Premium vs Digital Mall vs Pasar Malam Casing?

I noticed that we've a number of different types of casings in the market

1) Original Premium - Branded and quality casing
2) Original, non premium - Often found in digital mall and low yat. Seems the quality is lower. Any thoughts?
3) Fake Premium - Like fake Incase/Otterbox/etc
4) OEM Pasar malam - I found this very common in passer malam. It is cheap, but how is the quality?

In short, should we spend a hundred or more in a branded case? Or should we get those el-cheapo cases? Also, how do we know the shop is selling an original, premium case rather than a fake premium case?

Have anyone of you every bought a fake case?
