Cheap Vintage Watches

Think I want to start this topic for those interested. After so many years I just got interested in watches again. I cannot afford anything expensive so those affordables ones are those that I go for. There are a few categories I suppose, autos, manual wind watches, quarz analogue and perhaps older quartz digitals.
A few days ago I have found a 1970 Citizen Homer Date from one regular at the local flea market and I went for it. THere are not that many vintage Citizens around or at the very least there are more Seikos than Citizens. I bought it because of late I got a bit more interest in manual wind watches, they feel better on wrist due to their thinner profile than their equivalent autos and they stand the ravages on time better without the attached autowinder. Mine came without the original bracelet & crown. Nor is the crystal original. Well one cannot have everything the price I paid. The dial was not in pristine state either. Took me more than an hour to clean up the dial a bit without going too far. Dont want to risk damaging it. Time keeping is good so am not having work done on that yet. Perhaps in time if its a keeper.
Homer is a basic movement from Citizen, being first produced in 1963 and was in production till mid 70s think. Its more long that it is wide and the case design is just basic ... more meant for youths than gentlemen in its days I suppose. Good enuff for my small 6.5 inch wrist though. Comfy enought with cheap 'leather' strap. There is not much of a chance to stumble on original bracelet for it I suppose but I will definitely buy one of there is available at reasonable price.

So if there is anyone in this forum that the same interest please do chime and and post pics of your affordable vintages. Good to see those pieces from horological history still running and still being used. I will post more as this thread move, if it does moves... haha

Local forummers are generally a little timid and not really willing to share experience. Most information that got is from foreign based forums where their members are a bit more willing to share.
