Up until last month when i sent my kelisa for an overhaul, the mechanic called me and ask me to come and take a look at my empty engine bay. Cracks and traces of cement all over. It was suspected that my car was once accident real bad and the front part was joined with a piss-poor welding job. the front part was totally damaged. Even the mechanic got curious on how the car managed to pass JPJ n Puspakom b4 selled back. (FYI it was sold to me by a used-car shop). Since the car chassis is damaged pretty bad, i dont think it is up for sale and i am condemned to used it till i die. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://static.lowyat.net/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> <br /><br />so my question is;<br />1.what kind of repair/mod i CAN do to maintain a CRACKED and DAMAGED chassis?<br />2.would installing aftermarket chassis tuning equipment (strut bars, fender brace, Sway Bar, Stabilizer Bar etc) sustains its integrity? for long term? <br />3.does this condition will cause a problem later on with the authority(JPJ puspakom etc) if does, what are the procedures i need to follow to make it right.<br /><br />my main concern is safety and continuity of usage. also for all the noobs that are getting their 1st car and decided to go with used-car, can the otai&#39;s share tips and trick to avoid being trick? let my story be a lesson to all out there. please help.
