An unexpected very good movie.

- superb acting by Francis mcdormand and Woody Harrelson

- bloody superb acting by Sam Rockwell, this guy is an underrated actor

- nice storyline, humor, pacing. The humor is spot on

- great character development

Overall 8/10

Good watch

Oh and Tyrion Lannister is in this as well... Small role though

Insidious 4 : The Last Key

Positives:
- Lin share as Elise Rainer is endearing... She brings that feel good motherly protective aura that has you rooting for her throughout
- some of the humor was funny... Silly but funny.
Negatives:
- really bad plot. It feels like they have absolutely no more ideas on what to do. The haunted house cliche is too overdone

- bad acting. Aside from Elise, Specs and Tucker, the acting of the other people were bad... More like a B grade movie

- The scares were not genuine scares... More like loud noises and screams... Lame jump scares

- insidious managed to develop some scary demons in the past... Darth Maul, the black bride, even that old guy in oxygen mask was pretty scary... But this key finger demon is bloody bad... Seriously he's the worst creation ever.

Overall a 6.2/10

Just watched this movie. Pretty good. The cinematography was spot on. The scares were alright and the story line interesting with some plot twist.

Takes inspiration from Rosemary Baby, Annabelle 2, The Ring, Insidious.

Overall a decent watch. 7/10. It's a remake of an indo Horror movie with the same name.

Pre 2000's

DC had major success with Superman 1,2,3 and batman, batman returns and Batman forever. Marvel made no notable films.

2000-2010
Marvel made strides with iron Man, Spiderman and X-Men, hit and miss with ghost Rider and hulk and disappointments with Daredevil, Elektra and fantastic four 1 & 2. DC had brilliant successes with batman begins and the dark Knight, mixed bag with Superman returns and flops with Catwoman

2010's

Marvel ran riot with Thor, avengers, iron Man sequels, ant man, GOTG and captain america. DC only had Wonder woman a hit. Man of steel was above average. Even though suicide squad, batman v Superman and probably Justice league made tonnes of money, they are panned by most audiences and critics. it seems like there is a power shift from one comic legend to another.

Negatives:
- overkill on humor. Most of it sticked but I thought it was Abit too much.
- There were characters who didn't have time to grow. They were mere fillers but left me with questions as to why they were included in the first place. Another marvel hero makes a cameo in this movie but it was soooo unnecessary.
- villain with lots of potential but never utilized. Hela was good... But her role was too shallow. Her screen time limited and the ending felt super rushed.

Positives:
- fast paced and packed with action scenes made the movie cruise through its 2 hour run time
- the progression of Thor is great. As he embraces the god of lightning persona
- nice to see some bad characters turn good
- Matt Damon is in this movie (wtf??)
- movie is set up nicely for infinity War

Overall 7/10

I'm guessing most atheists in Malaysia was not born as one. Many were born as believers and later on declared themselves as atheists.

So would like to hear some experiences from forum members. What was your faith growing up and when did you realize that religion was man made/ God doesn't exist.

I'm a believer but just wanna learn more from people's experience on atheism.

Switched from Huawei to Samsung

Existing Android user who made the switch from Huawei p9+ to s8+, initial review (1 week usage)

Battery life
P9+ had far superior battery life. Even as I set my s8+ to HD only resolution and brightness to 50% throughout, it lasted from 9am-7pm. P9+ went all the way to midnight but it does have a bigger battery.

Keyboard
The Samsung keyboard, predictive text and autocorrect sucked. Had to switch to Google keyboard. P9+ stock was better

Screen Quality
Better on the s8+. Even with HD only setting it's still crisper than the p9+. Loving the tiny bezel screen as well

Fingerprint scanner
Huawei wins hands down. I think the s8+ problem is the location of the scanner

Camera and video
S8+ wins hands down. Superb quality with sharp images. Incredible detail.

Speakers
Feel the p9+ had overall better sound experience but only just a little.

Fast charging
Samsung wins. Using the supplied charger got me 15% in 6 mins

Carrier signal (Celcom)
Better in Huawei. I used to get full bar in the living room. On the s8+ on 2 bars

GPS/location/navigation
S8+ by a mile. Huawei sucked big time and made my Waze redundant. S8+ is quick and accurate

S8+ other pros
Google Assistant is very helpful
Better option for casing and screen protector

S8+ other cons
Iris scanner is poor (for me at least), I'm now using pin unlock only as stable
Bixby is a waste. Although I've remapped the button, the fact that it takes space in my phone annoys me

2 green lanterns to appear in Justice League?

Two members of the Green Lantern Corps may appear in Justice League thanks to Joss Whedon’s take, but not the members many would expect. Warner Bros. is gearing up for the full expansion of the DC Extended Universe when Justice League hits theaters this fall and introduces audiences to their entire lineup of superheroes. The DCEU has already firmly established Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), but the movie will also fully introduce the rest of the League: Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

However, as most fans realize, there is one key component missing from the Justice League lineup, that being any presence of the Green Lanterns. WB has a film in development and rumors have persisted that Green Lantern would be in Justice League in some form, and now rumor has it that two members will be appearing.

IT (2017) review

- it's a horror movie that not only deals with supernatural horror but also real world horror such as abuse, bulliying, trauma.

- the kids were OK. Some were extremely annoying (dick jokes... Lots of em) some were good. Overall I'd say decent.

- the scares did not work. Whether it's jump scares, or slow creeping ones, they just never hit the spot.

- Pennywise. A great character but extremely underused. He was more creepier for sure. But not enough screen time. Bill skarsgard did well but he should have been allowed to say and do more as the dancing clown

- overall story is decent. Slightly slow paced but still bearable. 6.7/10 for me
