Need advice on what laptop to buy

Hi guys, I'm going to buy a new laptop with a budget of Rm5k-6k (ish).

I'm not specifically looking for a gaming laptop, but I do play Dota2 and I'm not uninterested in playing high end games like WatchDog and others. So gaming laptop is okay.

I'm also looking for better battery life if possible, if not (gaming laptops usually have low battery life) 4 hours to 6 hours normal usage time is probably okay for me.

So guys, actually I'm not looking for a laptop specifically in the 5k 6k range. If u guys have a BEST laptop at the price of 4.5k that is worth its buck, please recommend me as well.

All in all, I'm looking for the BEST laptop, but my budget is around 6k.

Screen size I would like 15"6 and above
Better wifi
Good processor (any fifth gen i7 recommendations would be nice haha)

I'm actually eyeing on the MSI GE62 Apache pro (2QF) do u guys have any reviews on that?

Thanks for the advice

[ADP/ATDP] Should I Take SATs?

Hi, I'm '14 SPM Graduate, and I have decided to pursue my further studies in ADP/ ATDP programme to study in the US.

I have shortened my list to the choice of INTI, Sunway or Taylors. I live in Penang, INTI is definitely the closer and economical choice.
Sunway is strongly recommended by a friend who was studying in Monash (probably cause its so close to her she liked it more?)
Taylor's seems to be the "prestigious" pathway as everyone says only rich people go there, but I realise that Taylor's is not half bad in facilities.
The ADP Programme costs are all roughly the same so it's irrelevant to compare them by tuition fees right? (RM ~30k per year for first 2 years then the fees are in USD in the 3rd and 4th year)

I'm interested to study ADP course in Computer Science.

Alright, my question would be:

1. Inti, Sunway, or Taylors?

2. And during my first two years studying locally, if I take the SATs and land a high score, CAN I transfer to a BETTER university in US than the one that was stated in my degree program?

Previously, I have already taken the SATs once so I was planning to go for it a second time during my A levels so that I have a better leverage for applying into better unis in US, but now that Ive decided on ADP, I'm not so sure.

Thanks for any insights!

Scholarships after SPM Trials

Hey guys, just wondering, what are the possible scholarships we can apply for straight after we get our SPM Trials Results? (around August) Are they usually just for January Intakes?

Anyways currently I've only known about Taylors A Levels, TAR A Levels, and mostly colleges offering A Levels Scholarships for good Trial Results. Anyone have any other reference or clue about other sorts of Scholarships available to apply after Trials?

Great help if you guys do!
Thank you.

Methodist college Kuala Lumpur

Hi guys, looking for some unbiased opinions,
Currently I have a very biased mentality that MCKL offers the best A Level study in the terms of:

Lecturers (they are filtered though the student feedback system?)
Scholarships (they offer full scholarships to people who do rally well in SPM 10As etc)
Good afterstudies counselling program
Good track record
Great community and students as well as alumni

Could someone shed some light in this? As well as maybe the cons to my pros haha
How To Prepare your Lifelong Portfolio?

Hey guys, I'm back again with some "unusual" questions (unusual because its hard to find good material on this)

That is how to prepare your portfolio? And okay, I know that there are many sites that offer "How to Create A Good-Looking Portfolio" etc but what I'm asking to crowdsource is, how do you actually reconsolidate all your acheivements throughout the years that are scattered, e.g. you were helping out as a DJ at a friend's wedding party (no certs for that) and etc etc.

And also this is a post to help "REMIND" others about some previous achievements that they themselves may have already forgotten, e.g. "Guys, remember to check back if you guys had participated in any National Science Competitions or have gotten any NILAM awards etc"

Any one could just provide some ideas here so that we all can help each other out covering bases one has not yet thought of.. haha.

My American Dream

Hi everyone from Lowyat!!

I'm currently 17, in Form 5, sitting for 2014's SPM, and I have enrolled myself for this May 3rd's SAT test.
My dream from very young has always been to study in the States, and I would really want to fulfill that dream without giving a huge burden upon my parents.

After research, MOST (as I may have missed) scholarships for studying in the US are partial scholarships, which do not provide full coverage of my education and living expenses in the US.

So my question is this,

is there a full scholarship to the States that is legible for undergrad studies? (to narrow down the scope, I'm interested in Law or Comp. Sc. [somehow this just makes it wider lol])

or is there any logical/possible way of getting a partial scholarship, then working my ass off at Starbucks in US to cover the rest of the expenses?

and furthermore, is enrolling for SAT at this stage good? what else should I be starting to prepare for?

From what I know, expenses of studying abroad in the US ranges from $USD 10k per year to $USD 70k per year and thats not even including the higher tier ones. And when they say scholarships, its like okay one year's USD70k but we'll give u a scholarship of USD 20k, or one year's USD10k but we'll throw in USD1k of scholarship, that kind of thing, not to mention the varying living expenses in the states.

So many variables, so I was wondering if we could have a discussion on this to find the right fit for us Malaysians Everyone should have a chance at the American Dream.

American Standards: How to Get to US?

Hey I'm currently a bit confused. If I'm aiming for Universities in the USA, should I go for A Levels, or should I apply for SAT? If I do apply for SAT, how do I study for it and take the exam?

To be honest, I am aiming high here, I'm hoping to get into Harvard University (good luck on that huh) but seriously, hope there's some solid advice as to what to take after SPM, hope to start planning Asap, because on their site it seems that they only require SAT tests as the foundation (even for international students) is this true? Why do you take the extra mile to take A levels when you could take SATs after SPM and just go?

Hoping for answers! ^.^ Thanks!!!
