Do you guys think Malaysia still got hope?

QUOTE

TOUCHED BY RESCUERS
I AM writing to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to a group of young undergraduates/post graduates who selflessly rescued me from the brink of death on Nov 25, during a trail excursion to Gunung Nuang in Ulu Langat, Selangor.

On that day, I joined a group of 15 experienced hikers up to Gunung Nuang.

On the way up I had fallen several times owing to the muddy trails caused by the persistent rainfall from preceding days.

We reached the top at about noon and after spending about an hour resting and taking in the view, we made our way down.

As my wife and I were the slowest in the group, two of our friends stayed behind as “sweeper” to ensure that no one was left behind – also the motto for our group known commonly within the trail hiking community as the DDG group – Die Die Go.

An hour-and-a-half later I reached a stretch which was too steep for me to continue on foot, so I sat on the ground and tried to inch my way down using my butt.

Thinking back, I should have turned and climbed down “face in”, a mode advised and preferred even by experienced climbers instead of trying to inch my way sitting down “face out”.

Until now, I still can’t recollect what caused me to roll uncontrollably a few seconds after I sat down. It seemed like eternity.

All I could remember was feeling my body knocking against several large rocks while going down.

My descent was stopped when the side of my head hit a a large rock and due to the impact, I was spun sideways and came to rest next to a tree trunk.

My wife later told me the whole area where I came to a stop, including my body, was splattered with blood. There were three deep cuts on my forehead and the side of my face near my left eye. My spectacle was broken in the fall.

Fortunately for me, a group of about five hiking enthusiasts, including Syed Alif Iskandar Syed Zainal Abidin of UiTM Engineering Faculty, who were strangers to us were right behind.

Like angels from heaven, the group descended towards me in double quick time and did an assessment on me within seconds when I came to a stop.

Days later I could not help by recollect with admiration the tenacity and bravery of these boys.

I do not know whether they are experienced hikers or not and considering that they saw me drop like a heavy stone, metres in front of them, the speed with which they came, with disregard for their own safety, reinforced my belief in the kindness of my fellow Malaysians who regardless of race, status, colour or religion would not allow such an unfortunate incident stop them from extending their hand.

Their assistance did not stop there. To me, the important thing was that they kept my spirits up with their constant reassurances that my injuries were not life threatening even though deep in my heart, I feared the worst.

For someone with extreme short-sightedness who just lost his spectacles, my biggest fear, once I recovered from the shock was the thought of another 8km of muddy trails to get to the car park.

The boys assured me that they would assist me in the descent. Even in my panic stupor at the critical period, I can still remember vividly how they together with my two friends who acted as sweeper, held my hand and led me down all the way for a further six hours before we reached my car – a walk which I categorise as the longest and most painful walk in my life with the deep cuts throbbing mightily across my forehead and face.

Other boys meanwhile raced ahead and stopped at regular intervals along the trail to feed me with energy drinks and food to ensure that my energy was maintained for the long descent.

I admit that I have been severely disappointed and frustrated with the constant harping by politicians from both sides of the divide these past few years to the extent that I was led to believe that Malaysians in general are not harmonious and we are a selfish lot who only care for their own race, religion and economic well-being.

But the selfless actions of those few Muslim boys atop of Gunung Nuang in Ulu Langat on Nov 25 dispelled whatever disappointment and frustration that I felt previously.

Their actions reaffirmed my faith that all ordinary Malaysians, regardless of race, colour or religion, are a harmonious lot and will not stop to help each other in times of need and we are not as what the politicians like us to believe, an intolerant and racially divisive people.

I salute and thank all those selfless boys who helped me at Gunung Nuang.

If not for your brave and courageous acts, I might not be penning this letter to thank everyone of you publicly.

UNCLE FOO
Source:
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...32485&sec=focus

Do you guys think Malaysia still got hope?

NEW DELHI: A medical student in her twenties, who was traveling with her male friend in a whiteline bus from Munirka to Uttam Nagar area in west Delhi, was allegedly gang-raped by a group of men inside the moving bus and thrown off the vehicle near Mahipalpur in south Delhi on late Sunday night.

The woman's friend is an engineering pass-out and works for a private firm.
The girl and the boy were reportedly returning after watching a movie at a theatre in Select City Walk mall in Saket area of south Delhi. They took an auto till Munirka and then boarded the whiteline bus from the bus stop to go to Uttam Nagar area near Palam where they reside. The girl was gang-raped by people including the staff of the bus even as the driver drove around the city and her friend was brutally assaulted.

The duo were then stripped and dumped from the moving bus near Mahipalpur flyover. The girl and the boy raised an alarm and the cops arrived. They were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Center for medical help. The girl was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital later. Her condition is stated to be critical. She has abrasions and head injuries apart from the sexual assault injuries.

The police have registered a case of gang rape under section 376 G at Vasant Vihar police station and are investigating the matter.Sos tomatoes:

http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.co...alpur-new-delhi
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142412...0453571588.html

India Police are one of the most corrupted and coward in the world. Some of them so scared to detain the criminals coz they claimed they have a strong 'back up' from the politicans.

Which team is the best team in the tournament between Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philipines, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar?

What are the strengths and weakneses for each of the team in your opinion?

In my opinion, Thailand is the best team and they are very strong in the attacking and midfield. But Malaysia is not far behind from Thailand in my opinion but they are unpredictable. We were good and better than the Thai during the 1st leg but played badly(put aside bad referee decisions) in the 2nd leg.
