Hello sifus,

I am currently trying to execute a shell command using the PHP function shell_exec() from my Solaris box.

The code below works perfectly fine if I want to execute normal unix command

CODE

$cmd=shell_exec("date");
echo $cmd;

My problem is when I want to execute remote shell command such as 'rsh'

CODE

$cmd=shell_exec("nohup rsh hostMachine -l userMachine date");
echo $cmd;

$cmd will not output any values, thus I assume the shell_exec() did not execute as I would like it to..
my goal is to execute a command at another trusted remote server.

has anyone succesfully tried execute remote shell command from PHP and mind share some help.

Hello UNIX sifus out there...

I am trying to transfer files over 2 UNIX system..using the following commands:

1) rcp
2) ftp

Both methods work fine.
Which transfer mode is best to use to transfer file from one UNIX system to another UNIX system, ensuring the files transferred is complete.

There's a possibility that the transfer may hang or is not complete..

UNIX getopt() need help!

Hello UNIX sifus out there!

I am trying to parse arguments to my own-defined command using getopt() on a Solaris 9 machine..

there was no problem in compiling the code using gcc compiler

but whenever i run the executable, i get the "Segmentation Fault(coredump)"..

I am trying to parse command using the getopt() tho i haven't tried argp() yet

I've tried the 'int argc and char *argv[]' but i wanted to use the getopt() as an alternative

btw..i'm using the C language

anyone have any solution for this please..

I'm in my final year in UTM and i am thinking of developing a system with the implementation of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). I am totally new to RFID and i am hoping some people out there can help and guide me with my project.

need help in:

1) How and where can i get low cost tag and reader?

2) How to develop an application that can retrieve data from reader to network to database?

3) What softwares and applications to use?

4) Other related issues..

I'll need to do more searching myself but hope u guys can share info and guide me in this project..
