I have a barb that I enjoy playing, and I use to do all kinds of weird builds, with Revenge and Overpower and stuff. But eventually I just tried out the WW/tornado thing, and it’s obviously better than everything else and then I felt like I had no real other choices anymore.

There are skills that are like 20 or 30% better than others, and that’s fine. But then skills like CM or tornadoes are like 10x better than other. And that’s just way out of line.

At the same time, when we did the nerf in um… v1.04 I think? When we made the one change to tornadoes that slightly reduced their coefficient… I’m not offended that Barbs can WW all over the place, but I don’t like that they can only do that with the tornadoes. So we reduced the proc coefficient some, and we know people will freak out. So we took that down and also reduced the cost of Whirlwind, since we liked that players could WW all the time, but we didn’t like that to do so players were required to use Intro the Fray and other skills to enable it. Since that meant zero build diversity.

And that didn’t really work. We didn’t change enough so most people kept using the same thing. Long term, we just don’t want specific things to be mandatory to a character.

D3 Challenges

All challenges are to be done on MP10 either in a group or individually.
Challenges are able to:
1. Promote build diversity and optimum play style.
2. Provide the player with a better understanding of his gears. For example, Challenge 3 lets you see how much mitigation you have and how fast you are able to replenish your health.
3. People who succeed can brag how amazing their class is.
4. Farming is BORING.

Challenge 1 - VOTA
Basically go to VOTA on MP10 and gather all the elite packs and fight them all at once.
Do it, get a vid or whatever and post your results/experience.
Have fun!

Rule: NO RUNNING AWAY to heal. Have to engage mobs at all times.

Challenge 2 - BUTCHER
I bet when you guys saw butcher, you are going to assume is a walk in the park. Well, there is a catch.
Enter Butcher's lair, and when the fight start DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT engage butcher until he enrages. Yes, only fight him when he is in enrage mode.
Do it, get a vid or whatever and post your results/experience.

Rule: No contact until Butcher enrages.

For those who want to boost their egos further: Ask 3 friends to join you in the fight. When the fight starts, ask your friends to die. Your friends are not allowed to engage and you are only allowed to engage when butcher enrages.

Challenge 3 - BELIAL (FINAL FORM)
Walk up right up to BELIAL (as close as possible) and start whacking him. The catch is you are not allowed to move once you engage. So yeah, you have to face tank EVERYTHING including his slams, poison explosions etc.
Do it, get a vid or whatever and post your results/experience.

Rule: Face tanking everything. Not allowed to move.

1. Weapon of your choice (for DH/WD/Wiz, no quivers/mojo/source)

MBP Lagging

Hi Mac Enthusiast,

I have a late 2011 MBP and is currently having problems with it.

1. When i play Diablo and uses Quicktime Player to do a screen recording, the frame rate turns horrible. Any ideas how to fix this?

2. Typing is not as smooth as it used to be as well when gaming. Sometimes is fine but sometimes, the output from the keyboard is being delayed. Any ideas?

3. Any freeware for screen recording? quicktime just won't do it.

The hostile function similar to that of D2 is rumored to be out on patch 1.0.7

Is something like the multiplayer concept of Dark Souls. Basically you join a game and you can turn hostile to the other 3 players and whack them.

KILLING BOSSES NAKED

Hi guys,

Recently there's a monk player that tried to do belial naked by removing his gears near the end of the fight. I don't know why he is doing this. Probably for achievement (achievement hunters can verify this?) or just brain dead.

So the 'smart' dude attempted to fight belial fully equiped and remove his gears by dragging them into the inventory when belial is almost dead. He tried but due to his slow hand movement, he died multiple times attempting to do so.

Being frustrated and etc, he came up with a brilliant idea of dropping his gears on the FLOOR during the boss fight. Needless to say, he dies again and this time he loses all his gears.

Moral of the story: Is stupid to drop your gears on the floor. Don't do this at home please.

Demonic Tremors Bug?

So i was farming on MP7 and when it was time to get to Fields of Slaughter, i knew this place is the worst place for me because it had Demonic Tremors and Herald of Pestilence.

So 2 packs later, i encountered a elite pack demonic tremors with the following affixes.

Extra health, Reflect Damage, Arcane Enchanted, Minion.

Dah lah they are on steriods and have knockback on each hit. I'm fine with that as i was able to heal in time with Guardian Turret.

BUT....

I swear the floor started having the frozen animations and i got froze twice and i got killed.

So isn't that 5 affixes instead of 4? can someone please shed light on this matter?

I'm a DH player and i'm not that bad.

I know there are some good barbs, monks and wiz here on LYN that are extremely creative with their builds.

However, on MP10, WW/HOTA Barb rules and its not like each of them have better gears than the rest of us. Is just their skills are generally OP.

Let's talk about active skills.

1.Run like the Wind.
- the proc-coefficient is simply off the roof. Couple this with battle rage - into the fray, you literally have infinite fury and that just allows the barb to spam the insane HOTA skill. (Think 400% wep damage)

And with infinite fury, you get that insane WOTB skill that grants that immunity, + CC chance, + dodge chance + MS, + Attack speed. I'm sure there's more.

With all this insane buffs, a 150k DPS barb literally becomes a 300k DPS barb EASILY and this is REAL DPS not some gimmick DPS.

2. Battle Rage
- + 15percent damage and 3percent CC for ALL DAMAGE. LOL

Besides barb, the next most able class to do MP10 is CM wiz. However, they do at it a risk of breaking their fingers. Barbs on the other hand?

So:
- Infinite fury
- no freezing/jail/stun and etc..
- crazy insane damage/CC buffs

650MIL Hero

Hi guys,

As u know, i'm the lone wolf on the EU servers running my DH solo on act 3 repeatedly. Farming does get dull at times and i think if i were to roll on the US server, i'll just be a hero to do ubers for fun or helping out starters. Definitely no paragon farming.

So i've started selling items (mostly my monk and wiz items plus a page of legendaries which mostly can fetch u 3GBP on average. I hope) on the RMAH since the GAH in EU is a slow moving one and crap don't really sell well on the GAH anyways.

I think i'm able to raise close to 250GBP if i do sell all of them. Probably gonna take me weeks to do so.

Anyway, 250GBP = approximately 650mil as gold is selling for 0.36 to 0.38GBP per million.

I have no idea how the US market is like and how the prices are on there but one thing i know is US prices are cheaper compared to the EU prices. SO my question now would be what class can i roll with 650mil on the US server that would give me the best or say closest to end game gears.

Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new to this thread and have yet to see an active DH forum that talks about the DH class. It this down to the DH not being a popular class in Malaysia?

Anyway, I'm starting a new thread so fellow DH players can join in and share your views on gear, efficient farming, upcoming 1.0.5 patch and even PVP.

Constructive criticism of each person DH is very much welcomed here.
