Well yeah the title says it all. It usually only happens when i play video games such as Guild Wars2 / Dota2. Never happened before while playing Shogun 2 but that might just be luck. Im suspecting that the problem lies in my graphics card its a Sapphire HD 7870. Mobo is Asus p8Z77-m and a new i7 3rd gen proc. The dilema now is that the mobo and proc are new and its my first time replacing them prior to this i never had this sort of problem( same graphics card) so im wondering could it be another reason why this happens? bad rams? proc not seated properly or anything like that would really help.

When it happened at first the monitor would turn off but i could still hear audio and could chat to my friends in skype ( while dota) but there was no way to recover besides a reboot. Lately its just eitehr a complete system hang or the monitor goes black and then it hangs.. sigh~

Hey guys, currently im using a model DP55WB Intel MoBo and Intel Core i5 CPU @ 3.20Ghz processor. My power supply is GX 750w with a Sapphire 7870 2GB card. I am thinking of changing to a newer model of motherboard and processor and I dont have much experience in changing these ( my first time actually ) so I would really appreciate any insights any of you guys might have. - My budget for overall of these 2 is about Rm1000 but its not final.
