So, I have a type when it comes to guys - ultra nice guys - but no one would believe that, even my close friends. There are quite a number of "bad boys" trying to woo me but I'm only interested in nice guys and there's this really nice guy that I like, he thinks I like bad boys too and he's acting like an asshole (he said he likes me a lot) to me. Those guys seriously think girls like assholes. What have the media done.

I think I should be asexual.

my definition of nice guys - Genuinely nice, gentlemanly behaviors with a kind heart.

So I've been in these weird situations with guys that I was wondering why would someone even do this cause it's the 21st century now and nobody does this. Don't get me wrong, I really like it though. It happened 4 times, when i was dancing with different guys (from different countries - 2 from US 2 from europe) on different situations, and in between dances, they will suddenly grab my hand and kiss the back of it.

Maybe its more common in Europe but definitely not the states. I did ask one of them why did he do that and he said he didn't know, he had never done it before. Do note that nothing happened between any of us. We were just having fun dancing and we were just friends.

I just don't understand what does it mean normally if someone does this. I did ask my girlfriends (local and abroad, conservative & open) but none of them experienced this before. What do you guys think? Would you guys do it to girls?

I know most of you won't bother the full details but I'll keep it as simple as possible. I know A 3 years ago when he was back from The States. We got together about 6 months later, but in LDR because I'm located in Malaysia and cannot leave yet due to commitments. The first year I was together with A was a bliss. The second year, we get into more and more fights as financial and our future came into viewpoint. We see each other 3 times a year. Shortest period being 2 weeks and longest 2 months.

During the second half of our second year together, things started to get out of hand. We fought almost everyday for a month or two. Before he was about to come back that year, he called me up and told me he had an affair with his ex. It started a few weeks after we started to fight everyday. According to him, his ex was dating his ex housemate, B. The affair happened after the tragic death of B and she confessed to him she dated B just to see A everyday. I reasoned (or stupidly choose to believe) that a second chance have to be given due otherwise I will not be satisfied out of this complicated relationship.

We passed the second year peacefully until the start of third year, A was suppose to come back to malaysia for good but he told me he cannot because his ex's mom threatened him to pick his ex over me or he will have to redo his Uni (this is because she bribed his lecturer the first year and he stupidly condoned it WITH a signed contract). You guys know who he picked so he got kicked out and have to redo Uni. Everything went well until last 2 weeks.

2 weeks earlier I received a call from his ex from his phone and she said, I quote,:"why are you still with him when you know he has a girlfriend already? have you guys had sex yet?" (They lost their virginity to each other;hence, the emotions). I of course only asked who is she, she just hung up after saying she's his gf. 15 mins later I called him and confronted him, he confessed that she and her mom was staying at his house because she threatened to commit suicide if he didn't agree. He said he wanted to be the "better person" to forgive them of their wrongdoings. I immediately ask him to kick them out of his house and tell his parents. He did as he was told. He also confessed he never intended me to know. I let him off because I have neither evidence nor reasonable grounds to believe that she was still there because I heard his parents on the phone when he said his parents was coming over.

Yesterday, we were supposed to talk as usual and he asked for extra time to do his work because he wants to bring his parents to "a minnesota carnival". It was a slip of the tongue. He claimed that he was studying in Columbia and Columbia is in NY. So I confronted him again and he tried to lie his way out saying they are travelling around the country. I googled them and found out there are BASED on Minnesota and NOT travelling around. This time, I didn't say anything about breaking up, he just assumes so. So be it. He didn't try to win me back because he "understands" that I won't want him back anymore.

The problem is I do. We are working towards a country and settling down. I have already planned and executed the plan. If I changed this, I will have a lot of problems in the near future. Plus, I really do love him. I just can't trust him anymore. I know every single one of you here will say I am stupid to even let him get past second year, and even dumber to reason that he can change.

I just don't understand why I did him no wrong, yet he lied to me again and again. 99% of the time he lied to me and 99% of the time I'm truthful to him. It hurts a lot. He has the strength and flaws I would like in a man, except for honesty. Maybe to him I'm just a girl whom he can get away with living a double life because I'm just so damn dumb.
