Help me on this Seagate External HDD =(

Hello, can any of you please help me.
My brother has this one external hard disk, and it's Seagate.
He lets a girl in his university borrowed it and somehow,
the girl used it for the very long time
and it burnt.

Too hot or something, I'm not really that sure either.
But now the external can't be use.

That day, he went to Lowyat to buy some stuffs for his PC.
Along the way, he just slipped and asked about this external, what can he do about it?
This one guy said if he still has the receipt, he can claim a new one.

BUT, i thought most external hard disk covers lifetime warranty right?
So do we really need the receipt?
Or anyone can help us here?

I have these 4 kittens and found one of them was already in the drain,
so we took them and place them in a proper cage.
Problem is, I think they're still so young around 1 week old
because their eyes still didn't open yet.
What should I do?

Their mum seemed to be missing, because normally she'll come at night to eat or something,
but it has been 3 days and we can't find their mother.

apparently i just bought a new laptop and want to connect it to streamyx.
But when i asked my little brother, he said he didn't know where he'd put the installation cd. i've asked around and none knows how to settle this.

anyone knows?
can the driver be downloaded through internet?

already email-ed the TMNET customer care, but it took them some times to response back.

please help..
