The life inside coffin apartment

The world isn't getting any bigger, but its population certainly is.

And for many of its most condensed cities, it's the poorest who must bear the brunt of a worsening battle for space.

In Hong Kong, where the cost of property has more than doubled since 2012, some are forced to live in spaces ominously referred to as 'cage homes' or 'coffin apartments' - tiny, cramped and for what they are, ludicrously expensive.
One woman pictured here lives with her young son in a 60-sq-ft room for a staggering £400 per month. Not far away, a man lives alone in an even smaller coffin apartment, measuring just 20-sq-ft. There's not even enough space to stand up and yet he pays £182 per month.

In South Korea, 73-year-old divorcee Kong Kyung-soon makes do with little more than six square feet in Seocho-gu, adjacent to the wealthy Gangnam suburb in Seoul.

Other living situations documented here include the family-of-three who lost their home during the 2009 financial crisis and had to move into a Los Angeles garage; and the 300-sq-ft micro-apartments in New York City, which cost a whopping $2,700 (£2,218) per month.

Home prices have increased nearly 50 per cent since 2012 in Kong Kong, making the property here among the most unaffordable in the world - and forcing some to live in these stackable 'cage homes'

Some of these inhabitants have lived in caged homes for decades, paying around the equivalent of £185 (1005 myr) per month in rent

The alternative in Hong Kong is one of these 60-sq-ft 'coffin' apartments. This woman lives in one with her young son for around £400 (2180 myr) per month

In 2011, Tracy Burger, his wife Elizabeth and their son, pictured, were forced to move into the cramped one-room garage attached to the house of Elizabeth's mother after losing their jobs during the 2009 financial crisis

Kong Kyung-soon, 73, lives alone in a space measuring little more than six square feet in Seocho-gu, adjacent to the wealthy Gangnam suburb in Seoul, South Korea

She boils water in a rice cooker to save money and pays around £280 (1560 myr) per month to live here, having divorced more than 30 years ago after her husband was caught having a string of affairs and then a love-child

Simon Wong, a 61-year-old unemployed man, pays £183 (995 myr) per month to live in this box, which measures just four by six feet

There is no room to stand up and only enough space to hang a few items of clothing on pegs next to where he sleeps

Lee Oi Lin, a 56-year-old woman, pays around £157 (856myr) per month for her 45-square-foot subdivided flat inside an industrial building in Hong Kong

It doesn't get much more off-the-grid than this, but it's exactly why one of its only residents chose to move there.
Zach - a 27-year-old man born and raised in Japan - ventured to Marble Island in the far southern wilderness of Alaska six years ago in search of a simpler life, and certainly found it when he was taken in by a family of oyster farmers.
Photographer Anze Osterman spent a month documenting Zach's life on an island so remote that he sometimes goes six months without seeing a single human outside of the family.

Marble Island, surrounded by whales and populated with prowling bears, is only reachable by boat or float plane, and has no roads or phone service. The nearest town is Ketchikan, a two-hour flight away.
Mr Osterman tells MailOnline Travel: 'Zach was the first person I saw when the float plane landed in a Tokeen cove, which is a part of Marble Island where he and the Wyatt family live.

'He and his dog Kahli came to pick me up and take me to the land. We connected instantly. That very first day I knew Zach would be the face of the story I was searching for.'
Zach lives in a cabin with a family of fisherman, Eric and his wife Cindy, who all work together on a floating oyster farm.

The island, which is surrounded by whales and populated with prowling bears, is only reachable by boat or float plane

Every couple of months, Eric and Zach venture back to civilisation to stock up on gas for the generators, the only source of power they have, and food they can't grow or hunt.
Most of their vegetables, however, grow in their garden and forest, and all their meat - deer, halibut and oysters - they hunt themselves.
This water is sourced from a small creek, which they collect in a tank.

He caught this rockfish one afternoon during a boat trip with Mr Osterman, and they later enjoyed it for dinner back at the cabin

Before spending time on Marble Island, Mr Osterman confesses he was confounded as to why anyone would choose to live so far from society.
That soon changed, he says.
'You get the feeling, existing in a place with such a powerful history and untouched wilderness, that this is real life. Like you are not a fish in a tank anymore, you are free.
'All the anxiety just evaporates.'

Mr Bosman explained the impetus behind the trip: ‘We both love travelling and discovering new places and cultures. But we never had enough time to travel as much as we would love to'

Honing in on some of the simple pleasures which have been the highlights of their travels, they shared: ‘We’ve already spent countless nights under a sky filled with stars and woken up to the sound of the ocean'

The intrepid duo, restless with everyday life, came up with the idea last June, but it took them until October to set off on the trip.
Mr Bosman told MailOnline Travel: ‘We felt we were in need of something new, something different. Something challenging too: a series of events that would shake us wide awake.

‘We also felt that it needed to be something that wouldn’t confine us living to one spot anymore. An idea was born: why not take your home with you? So we decided to buy a van and travel Europe.’
Their van, a 1985 Volkswagen Westfalia Joker with a pop top tent, nicknamed Chewie, was originally built as a camper van. This means they haven’t had to do much to adapt the 80ft mobile home to their lifestyle as ‘working nomads’.

The pair of creatives are able to take their work with them on the road. Mr Bosman runs a creative agency and Ms Wiebes is a freelance journalist

The Dutch couple has travelled through Amsterdam, across Belgium, France and Portugal in a motorhome with their pet dogs Tommie and Olaf

Mr Bosman said: ‘Now we can travel as much as we want and still earn the money to pay for it. So far we love this life, the freedom to roam is something we never thought would be so valuable‘

They explained: ‘We equipped Chewie with two larger household batteries instead of one small one and added a big solar panel on the roof so we can generate our own electricity, wherever we are.'
Despite its diminutive size they say compact living, even with two pets, is easily done.
They admitted: ‘We sometimes get astonished looks when people see us getting out, as well as two dogs.
‘The dogs get to take huge walks and are very much tired the rest of the day, so they won’t do much more than sleep anyways.’

how to recovery my data on my external hardisk

need expert help,

i have an old external hardisk suddenly not working. when i plug into my pc, cannot be read so i go to disk management setting.

the hardisk show file system under RAW and not NTFS, when i try to right click to explore and open it, cannot be "click"".

i need to recover my file especially photos on the hardisk, may i know how i could get it out? even updated my drivers, not resolve.. im using window 10.

currently already downloaded MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition"" crack version, minitool powerdata recovery 6.8 and "find and mount" app but seem not working, when i try to get the photos out, only show RAW. NEED HELP

Canon’s soon-to-be-announced EOS M5 mirrorless camera was outed a few days ago through a couple of heavily Photoshop-filtered images. Today a complete set of product photos and specs were leaked.

The Japanese website Nokishita first published the photos, which show what the camera looks like from all the main angles.

The camera reportedly has a 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, dual pixel autofocus, more touch autofocus points than any other camera, a DIGIC 7 image processor, 7fps continuous shooting (9fps in live view), an ISO range of 100-25600, FullHD video recording at 60fps, 5-axis image stabilization, and NFC and Bluetooth connectivity.

We’ll likely be seeing an official announcement for this camera on September 15th, so stay tuned.

halo bruh..

tolong recommend me a smart phone, not expensive enough and cheap.. i duno much about phone actually, k/ smart in phone.. i know.

what i want>

1 - don't mind about camera, i used mirrorless camera . lol..
2 - can support basic apps such as whatapps, line, maps, kakaotalk etc.
3 - good lasting battery, mean don't need to charge phone always. normally travel oversea need to find a place to charge very pek chek..u know
4 - cheap enough will do and don't rosak cepat.
5 - still thinking, anything that smart phone can help in travel will be okey. seriously still thinking, lmao.

budget maybe below rm1.5k or lower, my mindset very kampung style, got money go buy lens or invest it rather than waste time on good smart phone. myself la.. please no butthurt.
