Criteria on selecting stock broking services

Dear all,

Hi, I am newbie to this stock trading sector. I am wonder what are the factors that you would consider when selecting stock broking services? For example like broking fees, familiar with the bank and so on? Which stock broking firm are you using it now? Trade through bank broking house or Remisier and why? From what I know that trading through bank broking house is much more cheaper than remisier right, the bank charge 0.41% per trade while the remisier charge 0.7%-1%, correct me if I am wrong.

I know there are many SIFUs and Masters about stock trading, please let me know..
