Old Altis, Manual or Auto easier to find parts?

Hi, I'm thinking of getting an old 1st generation Altis (Year 2001-2007). (BTW, is the 2nd gen manual transmission Altis available in Malaysia?) Personally I prefer the manual transmission, not just for fuel economy but also for better control. Having said that, however, I'm concerned if sourcing of used/new spare parts for such an old manual Altis might be a problem. Would appreciate very much if anyone in the know could feed me with your experiences and/or opinions. Thanks in advance for your help .

Since early 2021, I had noticed that after washing or showering, my fingernails and toenails would become very thin, with edges sharp as blades. (Fortunately, my hairs or skins are not affected).

Could it be because of the rust in the pipes, since my house is 25-year-old and still using the same old galvanised iron pipes installed by the developer? However, does rust water cause fingernails to become thin?

Or could it be the filter media inside the outdoor water filter have deterioated due to age, since I have forgotten to change it for probably 8-10 years?

P.S. Attached pictures showing what I had discovered recently, the amount of sediment (and probably rust too) accumulated within the incoming pipes because the previous occupants who stayed here for about 9 years, before we purchased the house from the owner, did not install any outdoor water filter. I installed a Hydroguard brand one after the house renovation was over and before we moved in. That was 16 years ago.
