Clarks leather shoes

Hi guys,

I've been looking around for some good leather shoes for work (business casual, office environment) and one of the brands that I just can't stop thinking about is Clarks.

I place more importance on comfort than style since I need to walk a lot (yes, my office is connected to a shopping mall). I noticed that Clarks is somewhat more expensive compared to the other brands sold at major departmental stores such as Bonia, Ciano, Saville Row, etc.

In your opinion, is Clarks really worth its price, in terms of function and comfort? Do they last long? Most of my shoes only last for an average of 12 months before the soles get worn out.

Are there any other comparable brands in terms of comfort and quality? What do you recommend?

Are there any 8am to 5pm jobs out there?

I'm just wondering, are there any 8am to 5pm type jobs for people in the accounting line? I have attended several interviews and what discourages me most is that the working culture at most locally run companies appears to draw no clear distinction between official work hours and the hours beyond official business close. I was informed that staying back until 11pm is considered early and I will be expected to come in on weekends to complete my work. Does work-life balance ever exist here or is it just a utopian notion?

I am a certified accountant who has been working for five years and I am considering a change in career if I am not able to seek a job in my area of expertise (accounting) that can offer me the work life balance that I so desire.
