How to: 1st time servicing MyVi at Perodua Centre

Hi there,

I just bought a new 1.5 SE Perodua MyVi. As I know for any car, the oil needs to be changed at the 1000 km mark.

Before this I had a 1997 Proton Wira, so I would go service it at any mechanic workshop outside.

Thus when I now go to Perodua Service Centre, what are the steps ? Must I call make appointment first and how many days before ? When I service the car how long usually does it take ? Can I choose to use own engine oil ? Usually if use their oil and oil filter how much ?

Then If later on suddenly I fell got a certain problem with the car, will they repair it, or will they brush it aside and say no need (UNDER WARRANTY time)

Thanks !!

Nissan Teana 2.5L V6 = How is the fuel consumption

Hi guys, my dad is planning to buy a brand new Nissan Teana 2.5L V6. However, many reports have said that the fuel consumption of the car is very high. We are quite worried, because fuel prices are most definitely going to be increased as part of the governments move to cut subsidies. I would like those who actually own a Nissan Teana 2.5L V6 to share with me your experiences :

1) How fuel efficient is the car ?

2) How is the driving performance ? (because CVT is known to be sluggish)

3) Why do I see many 2.0L Teana instead of 2.5L ? Is it because of the cheaper price or because the 2.0L is poweful enough ?

4) Any problems you have faced with the car ?

Thanks guys !!

Peugeot 508 - To buy Turbo S or Premium version ?

Hi there Peugeot afficionados !

My dad is planning to get a Peugeot 508 sedan. The original choice was either a Mazda CX 5, VW Passat B7 (CKD) or the 2013 Honda CRV. The CRV felt very cheap inside it, as the seats were fabric and with a top speed of only 183 km/h and very poor torque and max power, I am certain it will not provide a good performance. The Mazda CX5 was very good, but my family found it rather small inside-uncomfortable. Passat is a tempting choice, but it is rather pricey and the cars just looks awful and very outdated.

The question is, the peugeot 508 sedan has two variants in contention:

1) Turbo S version (standard-lowest spec version)
- this version basically is the lowest spec with the least amount of trim level. This version does not have the following:
-No Smart Beam
-No Available space measurement
-No Keyless entry
-No Quad zone automatic climate control
-No Leather gear knob with illuminated ring
-No Heads up Display
-No 10 JBL speaker
-No colour LCD at instrument panel
-Only has 17" tyres, instead of 18" and the sport rims are not very nice
-No electric parking brake

2) Premium version which has all the above.

I do not know which to buy. The price difference between the two versions is RM 14000 ! My dad is a bit tight on cash on the moment. Also am thinking that Peugeots do not have good resale value, thus the extra investment is not worth it come resale time. Also, the more electronic features could lead to more stuff breaking down and more maintenance costs ? Especially after warranty period is over.

But at the same time, quite a lot of things have been removed, which reduces the premium executive feel.

What do you guys think? Also, can Peugeot 508 run normally on RON 95 petrol >?

Thanks !!
