Blinds and indoor grills

Hi guys,

Question as per topic title and description.

Do you guys happen to have windows blinds installed with windows indoor grills? Does it actually look good?

I'm considering getting blinds but my windows are installed with white powder coated grills. I can't imagine whether it'll look good with blinds.

If you guys happen to have any photos and ideas, do share! Thanks!!

Looking for experience painter

Hey guys,

I'm staying around Bandar Kinrara area. I'm looking for experience painter who repair the walls for my place. Do you guys happen to know any experience painters around the area?

Backstory:

House fully renovated and paint job done by main contractor. 2 months down the road, some walls start to show signs of blistering. Needless to say main contractor does not want to entertain me anymore. Heck, I owed him RM1k++ and he didn't even bother to come back and collect.

Did some DIY and it didn't went too well. While scraping off the blistered paint, the plaster/multi purpose wall compound/ASG come off as well. Thinking I could fix it by buying ASG/multi-purpose compound and apply myself. I find the result of plastering is not as ideal than I imagine. Hence the need of experience painter.

TL;DR - Attempt to fix blistering wall paint, cause wall snafu. Need painter.

App

Renovation completion touch up sequence

Got a house just finish tiling, so the following remains before completion:

1. install 3 plywood doors
2. Painting
2. electrical work - installing plug, lights, fans, DB box and switches
3. polish marbles
4. installing toilet stuff (WC, basin, heater, shower, rack, etc)
6. Grills
7. Install Bi-fold doors for toilet
8. Cleanup

I'm coordinating 6 different contractors & companies for the above work, I have conflicting opinions here. How should go about in proper sequence to complete it?

My current thoughts on sequence are the above. Is there any other way to go about to make it better? My painter related to me he should do the following:-

1. fix walls, and paint first layer ("base paint" or something)
2. finish electrical work & polish marbles. Base on anecdotal experience, he mentioned that marble polishing and electrical work might dirty the wall
3. return back to complete 2nd layer paint and finishing touches.

What do you guys think?

Can help scrutinize this quotation?

Sifus-sifus sekalian,

I'm renovating an old house in BK5, size 20 x 70, and I got quotation from this contractor recommended by a friend. I would like to get opinion on the pricing:

Kindly check out the attachements:

[attachmentid=3943859]

[attachmentid=3943860]

The payment scheme is 40-40-20. Tiles and a main door not included...

...and I haven't start to negotiate yet...

What do you think?

Another thing...the previous owner does not have floor plan to this house. I tried calling the developer (I & P), they say I would need to provide which phase of the house is built so that they can locate the floor plan.

I provided the full address to them and they can't find that...do you think that's BS??

Looking forward for your input guys, thanks!

iPhone EarPods alternative

Need opinions from you guys here..

I have an iPhone and I frequently use its EarPods while commuting, at home and it is shared with my iPad as well. From my experience, iPhone's own EarPods quality pretty good.

I'm looking for similar (and hopefully, cheaper) alternative to that. I look around some stores and came upon stuff like Edifier's Communicator EarPhones.

So, what do you guys use? Any recommendation? I'm looking for an alternative which has similar features where there's the usual "Call", and volume buttons. Decent sound quality and of course, cheaper.

By the way, Apple EarPods cost RM109.

Question: Getting new specs

Hi folks,

Need some advice, hope you guys can help me out.

I broke my specs and now I am using contact lenses. I plan to prescribe a new pair of specs and I have the following requirement and thoughts:-

Blindness for each eye: 900+ power, probably less than a 1000, I think

Lenses: Hoya 1.7, coated or what-not

Frame: Medium quality frame, I don't need branded stuff

Questions:

1. Any shops or recommended optometrist I can consult?

2. With the above blindness specifications, Hoya 1.7 good enough?

3. How much I should be expecting? The pair of specs I broke cost me RM1000+ which was 5 YEARS ago and I bought from Optical 88. Looking back, I think Optical 88 overcharge my ass...I think I can get it at a cheaper price, right??
