Shizen Energy has also achieved financial close with financing from United Overseas Bank for the 29.99-megawatt utility-scale solar project, the Japanese company said in a statement. The project is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2027.

The solar power plant is being developed, constructed, and owned by SM01 Sdn Bhd, in which Shizen Malaysia has 49% interest as the lead developer. Solarvest Holdings Bhd (KL:SLVEST) owns a 33% stake in the consortium, while HSS Engineers Bhd (KL:HSSEB) has the remaining 18%.

UOB Malaysia is acting as the mandated lead arranger and sole lender for the project finance facility.

Shizen Energy said the project will be delivered by a team of local and regional partners.

“This milestone demonstrates the strength of our collaboration with Solarvest and HSS, supported by the facilitation of government and state agencies throughout the process,” said Shizen Malaysia CEO Reza Ikram.

In Malaysia, Shizen Energy’s cumulative installed capacity stands at about 60 megawatt-peak, including rooftop solar projects for corporate clients such as Top Glove Corporation Bhd (KL:TOPGLOV) and major mushroom producer Hokto Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

SUBANG JAYA: Police are investigating a crash between a police and civilian motorcycle.

Facebook group "Dashcam Malaysia" shared a 17-second video of the incident, which occurred on the Subang-Kelana Jaya Link about 6.50pm yesterday.

The video shows a collision between a police-marked BMW motorcycle and a Honda ADV.

Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said a police motorcycle was on the right lane when it veered left to switch lanes.

In doing so, the police motorcyle grazed a civilian machine in the middle lane, causing its 20-year-old rider to fall.

"The viral video appeared to show the police motorcycle leaving the scene. However, further review of the full footage confirmed that the rider, a policeman on duty, had stopped approximately 30m ahead to avoid obstructing traffic," said Wan Azlan.

The policeman, together with members of the public, then helped the civilian rider, who was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act for careless and inconsiderate driving.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Inspector Fatin Husna Khairuzzaman of the Subang Jaya Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department at 017-3012621.
