Proton GEN2 CPS engine overheating

Hi,

My bad day as I drived my car into flood. Luckily car didn't stall.
A day after that I notice my car engine overheating and white smoke coming from the manifold.
The temp reached 120C.
The increase is all of a sudden without warning.
Any advice on what to check before towing my car to workshop.
The car can start and run for few kms before the temp shoots up.
I'm scared the head gasket blew off.
