IT career decision

Hi all,

I need opinion of yours! I may be getting an offer from Company A next Monday. At the same time Company B might offer me somewhere next week. Do you think I should just sign with Company A once they want me? Or hold on to it till company B comes to me? I don't wanna regret my decision later..

Furthermore, with the basic information below. which Company you think will build a better foundation for years to come? Right now, I am tired of job hopping around and wants to focus on one so that I can grow in that field. Besides that, which Company will be a better prospect in IT industry?

Company A
- implements ERP focusing in oil & gas industry
- overseas exposure, more to Asia Region
- KL
- director told me that the culture is to finish work within the working time and dont encourage OT or overtime, otherwise it shows us bad planning. Believes in work life balance..

Company B
- one of the big 4s, doing business processes services/ consulting for various industry
- just work with local client
- PJ
- culture might be hectic as it is big 4. Maybe no work life balance.

let me know what do you all think.. Thanks in advance!

USB Device Disconnect

Hi all,

I have this problem where my mouse connected via USB will get disconnected if there are too many program running on my notebook at once. I realised that this will happen when I try to run any program, the program will hang a few sec, then USB mouse will malfunction after that.

I did try to re-plug the USB mouse into other port but it does not work. But mousepad works ok. Also, I tried my USB flash drive, doesn't work too.

Only way that works is to restart. But restarting in the middle of urgent work or perhaps 5 times a day is driving me nuts.

Anyone out there has experienced this?

Please help! Thanks in advance!!

Balance Transfer calculation

Hi all,

Here is a scenario,

Owing HSBC RM 5000, planning to clear RM 1500 with HSBC.

Balance amount owed RM 3500, I planned to balance transfer to UOB.

UOB have this promotion of 0.75% for 12 mths. The problem is I don't know how does the calculation work for this 12 mths. Can someone be kind enough to illustrate to me? I cannot visualize how.

Is it that 3500 / 12mth = 291.66 and the interest of 0.75% is against this mthly amount or the big lum sump? I am so confused. Desperate for help here as I need to ease my cashflow.

Wonder is this the best option. Please help!

THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

NOT chinese ed needs additional 1 year

Hi all,

Just wanna know your view on this matter.

Apparently, for PR students with diploma from TARC WITHOUT chinese background is not allowed to go for second year of UTAR Degree programme. And is required to go KAMPAR campus to start from 1st year in UTAR Degree programme. Which is due to lacking in chinese background. But this is not chinese studies wor..

But, those with Chinese background can proceed with 2nd year in UTAR Degree programme in PJ campus.

Anyone here got similar situation?

Honestly, UTAR does not have much sense here as MOST of the medium of studies are in ENGLISH and not chinese.

p/s: I am not being biased towards those with chinese background (my apologies if anyone got offended) but this issue just sounds kinda odd and left me speechless.
