Best TV or Monitor for the PS3

hi guys! i have just been wondering or trying to find the truth behind the display for the ps3.. i am currently looking for a tv or a monitor for my ps3 but there is one thing that i really really want to have when i get one... ever seen a video output that looks so sharp people think its 3d? i have been seeing this on electronics areas in malls or shopping centers but the sales peeps don't know what to tell me.. everyone seems to think that if you have a full hd tv and a full hd/hd source, you'd get that kind of quality..

WELL THAT'S WRONG based on experience...

i tried my ps3 on a smart tv by samsung (40" full hd) and it looks good but the quality im looking for is not there.. i tested gow3 and tekken6 and a bunch of other games but still, its a fail... some friends told me that it maybe the hdmi cable.. that it has to be 1.3 or above.. i am using a 1.3 hdmi cable..

anyway, i just noticed 1 common thing on the videos that i have been seeing.. they run on tvs that have 100hz or more refresh rate.. i am not aiming for a 40" tv considering the price, i just need maybe a 24" - 32" display. anyone knows where i can get one that has 100hz or more for the refresh rate? or is my theory false? please feel free to post!

follow up question: in case there is, is a computer monitor better than using an actual tv??
