Hi all,

Nasi Lemak is EVERYWHERE in Malaysia. There's the cheap roadside stall in the mornings where you can just swing by, illegally double park and hop out to buy ... then there's the super premium nasi lemaks sold at cafes or high end hotel restaurants.

So tell me... whether it's a hyped up stall... or some stall in your hometown... where's your favourite nasi lemak? I'll likely find my way there to try it and review it! Doesn't matter where in Malaysia! So this would be my personal project. Give me the address and name... and I'll get my ass over to try it!

Unifi & Maxis Broadband Collab

I'm currently using Unifi 30mbps and where I'm located, most of the evenings til next morning and weekends have almost non-existent internet. Basically I'm connected, it shows on all my devices but not a single online service can be used at all.

Just a couple of days ago, I received a call from a Maxis rep. Citing that they are running a collaboration program with Unifi. This program is offered to certain area customers who have been facing connectivity problems. They will change my router but other hardware would be maintained and subscription will be reduced down to 139 per month. Catch... you will have to terminate Unifi which they will fill in the paperwork and the customer will have to bring it to the nearest Unifi branch to submit it and you will be tied down to a 2 year contract. Anyone has faced this?

No broadband service in Bayuemas

I just moved into a new area in Bayuemas, Klang and discovered to my horror, none of the major players in home broadband, are available in that area.

TM allowed me to terminate my contract as both Unifi and Streamyx is not available (meaning no phone line either) and will not be in the pipelines of the near future to extend to my area (next area is covered though). Maxis Fibre is also NOT available. Neither is TIME Broadband. I'm completely ruling out U-Mobile, Digi, Celcom and in general mobile telcos as service in the area is generally poor and they are not quite transparent with their plans (too many fine print and hidden conditions). YES is the last option but looking at the coverage, my area is barely tethering at the edge of their coverage so how stable the service would be is questionable.

Does anyone have any suggestion on what to do to get TM or Maxis to increase their coverage sooner? I have been a long time subscriber to Unifi and been ok with their service and transparency. But sad thing is although there have been up to 9 or 10 requests from my area for Unifi... they are willing to let go of another customer.

Adopted Stray Dog Problem

Hi everyone,

I need a bit of advice. My housemate & I adopted a stray puppy (puppy was forced onto us when we went to look) a few months back. Since then, we have encountered health problems with the puppy amounting to more than RM2000 in treatment costs. We expected to pay a bit more to check the puppy health in the beginning and after a 2 week treatment of antibiotics and deworming, the vet cleared the puppy as healthy and allowed the first jab. But the vet left out some skin problem which he said would clear.

That skin problem has become a full blown problem that don't seem to be able to cure completely. As I won't carry the puppy in my car with that problem (I have issues and the puppy is too big to fit into carriers that we have), we had to call the vet to come. Vet came said the disease is inherited (but looks like severe mange to me) from the mother dog. Gave meds but the puppy didn't get well enough before the next round hit again. Skin started falling off the puppy and the puppy kept spraying blood all over our house walls and gardens. So far this has been repeated so many times and it's costing us a fortune. Plus the puppy has a tendency to bark at familiar neighbours who walk around the area. We have received complaints from neighbours about accessive barking which would only stop if either me or my housemate is in sight. I have to make a decision to put the dog down but none of the animal rescue people would help bring her to a vet to get her put down as they said I was cruel to make that decision. Easy for them to say as they aren't paying through their noses for that dog's medical. Also, due to this issue, we can't get her 2nd and 3rd vaccination and I worry for my own dogs who aren't allowed out of the house with this sick puppy around.

Can anyone here help me with this issue? I will try to get a photo of the puppy, now about a year old, and is experiencing another round of the skin falling off. Meds are being given again.

Stalked by Crazy Woman

I need some help urgently. My good friend and I are being stalked by a crazy woman who (no offense to Christianity) preaches christianity then curses using God and the bible at us when we tell her to back off and don't bother us anymore as she has caused us a lot of grief when we though she was a victim of spousal abuse. When we refuse to answer her calls, she buys a new prepaid number to call us. Up to date we have almost 10 numbers used by her to call us asking for money as her husband (currently husband divorcing her) gives only enough to take care of rental and their kids.

Is there any way to block her calls ?? We have enough problems of our own to get frustrated listening to someone call then curse and swear at us for not giving her a monthly allowance (although I have no idea why we should as we don't owe her any money in the first place). I thought all prepaid numbers need to be registered with the Telcos? Can anyone help with this?

Just changed to this all-in-one, setup for direct connection no problem. But after setting up wireless, all wireless devices can see the SSID on the network but when trying to connect, I get the message that there's no response from the modem-router. When I check the router, the WLan, Internet, ADSL lights are all on. This is a brand new device as my linksys was fried over the weekend.
