Severe lag spikes while pinging router

Has anyone encountered this before?

I was on Unifi 5MB previously and there was no problem, upgraded to their 30mb package due to the promotion, after they installed their new modem and router this issue kept happening.

I have very bad lag spikes when playing online games. Dota, Diablo, Heroes of the Storm, etc. The spikes happen randomly, but usually the intervals between them are every 5 - 10 minutes.

I have tried reinstalling my drivers, changing different wireless receivers but still the same.

Was on Win7 previously but I'm on Win10, same issue for both OS. Wanted to try to use LAN cable but the distance between my computer and the router is just too far.

The router model is TRG212M.
