Please bear with me as I&#39;m not a tech expert but I heard you guys are the best. <br /><br />I have an Akira DVD player, model no. DVD-2202. My previous amplifier blew up and now I have a cheapskate one. My problem is that sound doesn&#39;t come up right. For example, certain background sounds in Star Wars Episode III DVD are inaudible even to point that Anakin&#39;s lightsaber sometimes lights up quietly. Now I&#39;m not expecting high quality surround sound, I just want all the sounds correct so I can get a decent watching from my DVDs. <br /><br />If I turn off the amplifier and just use my television, the characters&#39; voices are very distant, very echoed and very soft to the point of being nearly mute. My friend mentioned something about my DVD player being 6-channel and my amplifier being 4-channel but I don&#39;t understand.
