PC freezes. Cause?

Greetings..While i was working on my PC..it suddenly freezes itself..Thus, the screen is frozen...keyboard and mouse lights up as usual..but nothing can be done with them...no BSOD whatsoever...tried ctrl + alt + del..PC is still not responding...The HDD led is not blinking at all, monitor jus showing the site i was viewing on Google Chrome which is frozen too. I end up pressing the power button 5 sec to reboot the PC...Is the the fault of mobo, ram or psu or other stuff...?running memtest now..so far no issues (2 passes with no errors, gonna leave it overnight) Btw, i jus did a clean install on OS recently...so..i suppose driver and os is not the issues, and i did't do anything with the PC recently too...

Hope some of u guys would shed some light on this.. Thanks..Any reply would be much appreciated..

Here's my system Spec:

Phenom II 960T Thuban
Asus M5A88M
Corsair 2x 4GB DDR3
Western Digital Blue 500GB
Winfast GTX550Ti
Pioneer DVD Rom
Corsair TX650 PSU

Help!

Hi..good day to all ...I was wondering whether my PC was having a hardware problem or software issues ...Its been a few times, though not occasionally tat my PC booted up with a pixelated screen...By pixelated screen, i refers not only to the windows bt also during the startup screen which shows the word ASUS as well as the mobo model and stuff...It gets worst when it was fully booted up to the windows..whereby the screen was completely pixelated...Was this the problem of graphic card?motherboard? or RAM? BTW...i tested the RAM with memtest86 and there's no error. or watsoever...please advice ...Thanks
