Tupperware - are these genuine?

Hi all. I have been looking to buy some Tupperware products but can't find agents nearby. We like Tuperware though expensive but the quality is good and can last long, at least that's what we have experienced.

I just simply searched and found that nowadays there are Tupperware products sold even online, like here:

https://www.lazada.com.my/catalog/?q=Tupper....a3821ba4HG7Yjxhttps://www.lazada.com.my/catalog/?q=Tupperware+2l&_keyori=ss&from=input&spm=a2o4k.searchlistbrand.search.go.a3821ba4HG7Yjx

I am a bit in doubt, because it seems prices there are much cheaper, example, the "Tupperware Light Purple Slimline Slim Line Fridge Water Bottle 2L", I know the agents will sell at RM45, but listed as 30 here, I wonder if these are genuine or fake?

If anyone reading have info on this, please share here with me/us.

If you know of any good one please tell me here—please give me someone you have actually dealt with, who left you with a good service experience.

If anyone do have good guys in other areas, I might just list them down here by state/areas, who knows it might help a lot of other people.

Thank you.
Good Quality Bread - Where to buy?

Hi all, I know long ago that white breads are bad and we should eat more wholemeal breads, so I have started to do that. I just wonder, are those that we can buy commonly like brands of Massimo and Gardenia, are their wholemeal breads really wholemeal? If not, where can we get the real thing? How do we differentiate real and not real wholemeal breads?

Tyre Shops Camber Screw Scam Alerts

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4185126

The above thread already created by another member but it was parked under Kopitiam section which i thought should be put here instead since here is more specific about tyres.

If any member kena the Camber Screw Scam from any tyre shop, please be bold and share it here as a service to the rest.

I for one, will report on this:

Wxng Hxng in Bukit Kemuning

They did that to me 3 years ago. Their tyre price was good, but asked me the same thing saying my camber screws need to be changed somemore must be in one pair end up paying extra rm95 (per piece or in pair i forgot). Only after that I surfed the net and found that many shops had cheated many other customers before using the same trick.

Car Battery Recommendation

Hi all,

My current battery is showing signs of weakening, only just a bit short of two years - would it considered short? FYI I'm driving a 12 years old Vios, using normal type battery (not maintenance-free) .

Should I go for maintenance-free type? Please give some known good and lasting ones, plus their known market selling price.

Thank you everyone........

Tennmak Crazy Cello - Quality

Would like to ask owners of Tennmak Crazy Cello: I know this model has earned a very high reputation when it first launched. After several months now, I'd like to know how's the build quality? I asked because on amazon there are some complains that the cable broke after just weeks in use. Also, one user comment that it is too big and he has to take out even the smallest rubber-it is common to many users? I wish to get one, hopefully your comment could help me before making the decision.

Are there any other bands/models that can sound similar to Crazy Cello and also cost reasonably? Any worthy recommendations?

Washing Machine Quality Survey

Hi all members, my current washer needs to be replaced. I found that we have a thread already on washing machine but it has already 242 pages - quite dizzying to go through all of them. Also, each brand seems to have good and bad testimonies, and they are scattering all over. So some time ago I made 4 surveys on the high and low quality on two different types of washing machines, but it is not so convenient because the four surveys are separate and I found no way to combine them into one.

Maybe I can do a trick by just listing the links below so you can find the one relevant to you and vote there. I hope this page will not only help me but also future buyers. The more data we can collect the better it'd be.

Thank you in advance for your support!!!

****************************
for Top Loading:
High Quality Survey (NO service within the first 8 years)
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4366796&hl=

Low Quality Survey (needs service within the first 5 years)
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4366764&hl=

****************************
for Front Loading:
High Quality Survey (NO service within the first 8 years)
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4366769&hl=

Low Quality Survey (needs service within the first 5 years)
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4366789&hl=
Washing Machine (Top Loading) High Quality Survey

[for Front-Loading Washing Machines only]

Hi all members, my current washer needs to be replaced. Also, each brand seems to have good and bad testimonies, and they are scattering all over. So I hope to create a simple survey to list down all common brands in one glance we can see which brand has less problems while the machine is within 8 years in use.

I hope this page will not only help me but also future buyers.

Users are also welcomed to report about specific brands and models that they think we should seriously consider using (with descriptions would be even better.)
Thank you very much!

p/s I wish I can create a survey here that can ask more than 1 question, but either lowyat doesn't allow it, or I don't know how. So I will create 3 more surveys that will ask about the good and bad of top-loading and front loading models respectively. It is not ideal, but that's the best I know for now.

Fiio X3 Replacement Suggestion

Dear all forummers:

3 years ago i bought a used Fiio X3 (1st gen) from another very nice forummer yang2910, it was my first DAP and I was blown away by the SQ! Sadly, last week I lost it during travel. So I am in the hunt for a replacement, and I need some recommendations before making a new purchase. Before that let me give you more info about my use cases so that you can give me more focused suggestions.

My age: 51

My main diet composed of :
Jazz (vocal, instrumental) (50% of the time)
Pop (Hong Kong, Chinese, Brit pop) (20%)
Mainstream Rock (like Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac) (10%)
Classical (20%)
Heavy Metal - no no no

My headphone: Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro
* I have auditioned and compared Custom One Pro with Audio-Technica ATH-M50x using the Fiio X3, found that M50x sounded too bright and too forward and I got tired soon, but Custom One Pro is just nice and non fatiguing to my ears for prolonged listening. I have also tried the Final Audio Design Pandora Hope just for fun, and-it blew me out of the solar system! I have never heard anything like it before and wished to take it home right away, but the price of RM3k+ was too much to justify!

Besides using the headphones, lately I have started to use the Fiio X3 as my main source to feed my home hifi system consist of a vintage Marantz 1060 integrated amplifier and a pair of also vintage Rotel speakers with 12 inch bass drivers. The result is fantastic - X3 feeds music signals directly into the amp from the lineout port, without going through any extra DAC or preamp, the sound is marvelous.

With this background, I need your ideas to help me get another DAP to replace my much beloved X3, below are some of my main requirements:

1. Price: Ideally below RM800.
I have read that some better players from A&K and Onkyo do sound like heaven but again I can't justify their high cost. Unless the player that you are suggesting sounds so much better than a RM800 player but the price is just a bit higher, then I don't mind trying them out.

2. Brand: Fiio is preferred. Other brands I'm open to suggestion, as I have no experience with other brands, there might be some gems out there that I might have missed.

3. Sound Quality: Good vocal, wide sound stage.

4. DAC: best if the internal DAC is as good as the X3, so that I don't need to spend on extra DAC.

Any suggestion is welcome and is much appreciated. Thank you.

Dear all sifus,

I just got a vintage Marantz 1060 integrated amplifier from a friend, it sounds very nice but the left channel has very low output to almost inaudible, switched to the B speaker output is also the same, so pretty sure it is the amp's problem.

Any good and reliable repairer around the Klang Valley to be recommended?

http://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/marantz/1060.shtml

Suggestion on categorization...

Music Players and Audio Accessories Garage Sales

Lately I am looking for an home amplifier from the above forum, I found that the categorization can be made better. Current situation:

Untagged
Amplifiers
Sound Cards
PC Speakers
iPods Accessories
Other Audio Devices
Home Theatre
Earphones
Headphones

The problem with this arrangement is that, in the Amplifier section, all the home amplifiers (i.e. the big ones) and the headphone amplifiers are lumped together, making it very annoying for people who are looking for either types.

I'd give it a shot below as my suggestion to re-categorize the forum topics. It might not be perfect, but I feel it'd be much better than the current way. Moderators please give it a serious consideration. Thanks.

(Main cat. --> Sub categories)
Head-Fi --> Earphones; Headphones; Players; Amplifiers; Others
Hi-Fi --> Hi-Fi Systems; Players; Amplifiers; Speakers; Cables; Others
Home Theatre --> HTIB; Players; Amplifiers; Speakers; Cables; Others
iPods Accessories
PC Sound --> Sound Cards; Speakers; Others
Other Audio Devices

Amazon Kindle e-Ink Questions

Hi all, I am an avid reader and in recent years I have been reading a lot on my iPad Air. After a period of time on it, I wish to try reading on a Kindle for I heard that e-Ink is better for my eyes. I need to know a bit more details before I proceed to buy one:

1. Are all Kindles good for the eyes? I mean-are all using the same type of e-ink? If not, which model is best for prolonged reading (text) without straining the eyes too much? Need to stress that I don't care much about colors, it is just an option, the most important thing is which model is easiest for the eyes for I read a lot.

2. Can we input ebooks into Kindles not purchased from Amazon? I have acquired many ebooks over the years, can I just transfer them from my PC and iPad to Kindles easily?

3. What about other brands like Kobo or Nook? Would love to hear from users of these tablets.

Thanks ahead.........

Issues with ape cue files, and ape-flac conversion

Hi all,

I have a collection of lossless ape files and flac files, all of them can be played on my fiio x3, but on my foobar2000 running on my Windows 7 pc, some of the cue files from the ape cannot be played even though the tracks can be displayed correctly, but if I just drag the .ape file onto foobar2000, it can be played but it is one big long file without any song separation! So my questions:

1) if the cue files have problem on my pc, why they have no problem on my fiio device? What can be done to solve this?

2) I wish to split the tracts from ape files into individual tracks, best in the flac format, which tool is recommended? I searched and found many such programs but some are reported to be malware, and the rest I dare not try. If you have used any such tools and you know are safe, please share the info with me and others here who might want to know too.

Appreciate any advice.......

Can You Save Electricity By Unplugging Idle Device

Hi all, I came across this topic recently and I wonder if this is true:

"......These so-called “energy vampires” are appliances that continue to draw power from electrical outlets, even when turned off or idle. While these vampires won’t suck your blood, some of these appliances can cause substantial increases to your energy usage, costing you and your family hundreds of dollars per year......."

Proponents of this suggest that we should unplug all power plugs if those devices are not in use.

I'd like to hear from forummers here who have actual knowledge in the Electrical field to comment, or have anyone done actual measurement to prove/disprove this?

references:

http://energy.gov/energysaver/articles/ene...s-how-stop-them

http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/vampire.html

Colour Laser/LED Multi-function Printer with Wifi

I'd like your recommendation for an small office-use multi-purpose (+scan, +photocopy) colour printer with wifi, is LED or laser better?

The main criteria we are looking for would be reliability (i.e. seldom breakdown), economic (toner not too expensive), print quality average or above will do. If anyone here has real experience with any model/brand, please give some suggestions for our company to consider. Thanks.
