Hi,

I need help in choosing a cable for my Custom One Pro. I bought the replacement cable once but it stopped working after 50 hours of listening, so is there any alternative cable that i can use to replace the original cable?

My budget is around rm 100 - 150.

Thanks.

Thor Copper Cable Review ( SE535 ) photos uploaded

I am a newbie in upgrade cables. Since this is my first collection, I would like to try my best to write a review for it here. If I do not write it according to your liking, please bear with me, thank you.

My rig during my test : ASUS N550LF > DACPort > Shure SE535 + Thor Copper Cable

A general improvisation about this cable:

Mids: The vocals are smooth, much fast forward which I considered it as "Natural". At most of the time, you are able to hear the singer taking their breath before they start the next verse. This is a huge improvement from SHURE's signature, which is warm and rich vocals.

Treble: The trebles is no longer as sparkle as it used to be. The best thing is this cable improves the sound separation, and you can differentiate the instruments easily, like cymbals, bell and more...

Bass: For the first time when I tried on this cable. the bass is punchy yet not enough impact. But as time goes by, the bass has improved drastically, it becomes more impact and punchy, which is what the old SHURE SE535 could not achieve, but I still hope for slamming bass

Build: The braided cable looks sturdy and durable. The Y- split is connected to the braided cable nicely, great job Effect Audio!
Here is the braided cable.

I'll be giving more detailed explanation with some samples below:

1. Last Kiss -- Taylor Swift ( FLAC file, 44100 Hz, 857 Kbps )

Mids: The vocal is more natural and slightly emotional, but not as emotional as the Final Audio Design Heaven VI. The backstage singer's voice does not mixed up with her voice.

Soundstage: The soundstage is wider, and the instrument separation is much better than the original cable. You can hear the layers of strumming of guitar, the bass, and the trebles in detail.

Bass: There are two basses in this song, but I'm not good in recognize them. The cable managed separates both basses impressively. One of them is not punchy but deeper, and the bass is able to be retain for a while before it fades; for the other bass, it is much punchy and but not deep, and you are able to differentiate them effortlessly.

Treble: For this song, the trebles are smooth. The previous cable had a much sparkle treble, but to me this is a good improvement.

2. Paradise -- Coldplay live 2012 ( FLAC file, 44100 Hz, 1004 Kbps )

Mids: Their vocals are incredibly smooth, fast forward, and more synergy. The backstage singer's vocals blended harmonically with Coldplay's vocal. You feel like you are one of them in the concert when the audience sang "Woah~", clapped and screamed at the end of the song.

Soundstage: This is what I'm talking about, the soundstage is wide and you feel like you are sitting somewhere in the middle of the concert.

Bass: The bass is more impact and punchy, but for bass heads, I don't think this is enough.

Trebles: Well, the piano mashed with the violin nicely effortlessly. When the piano played when the Coldplay sang, the sound does not outshine his vocal. There is a part for the piano's solo, and the sound is smooth and slightly warm.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

[attachmentid=4007998]
[attachmentid=4007999]
[attachmentid=4008002]
[attachmentid=4008004]
[attachmentid=4008021]

Photos had been uploaded..

Go Martini + Review ( completed )...

This is my first time making a review...so if anything that annoys you please do concern...

I found this little thing when I surf across jaben network's website and being tempted by its mids and highs amplification...

Well, when it ships to me from jaben , this cute little thing have a low profile package.....alike the hippo cricri
It has a black layer casing with a volume control tuner.
The martini + needs 4 AAA battery to power it and it doesn't comes with a LOD of course...so you need to purchase your own..

Here are the specs of the amp:

Specs:
Headphone impedance range:32~300Ω
Frequency Range:10Hz~100KHz(ą1dB)
Dimensions:86x46x20mm
Weight:70g (Without Batteries), 112g (non-Alkaline AAA batteries), 116g (Alkaline AAA batteries).
Max Output: 150mW
Runtime: 160Hrs (x4 AAA batteries)
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: +A 102dB

For my first try out with my shure SE535, the signature of the SE535 turns a little warmish and the improve of the mids make the songs more detailed as well
With the lows improvement, the bass and the subwoofers being emphasize as well.

I tried some following songs with my Martini + and Shure SE535 as stated above,
1. One more night --> Maroon 5 ( 44.4 Hz with 320 Kbps , WAV file)
2. Oppa Gangnam Style --> PSY ( 44.4 Hz with 320Kbps , MP3 file)

On the first song...the vocal possessed by Maroon 5 turn warmish and lively as well, the slightest treble also could be heard and the symbol turns a bit harsh as well.
The bass are deeper and tighter that makes my head shook while listening to the song.

While on the second song, the electro part on the start turns warmish which is alike with the hippo signature.
The bass become tighter and the background being emphasize and the song have a wider soundstage as well...
The ' clapping " sound have become more detailed as well...

As conclusion:
"Don't judge a book by its cover" although this amp is not that big in size but it possessed a good quality in music.
If you are looking for an amp that is great and cheap ...
This little thing will suits you right , with great sound quality and the playing time for about 300 hours.

I found out that for acoustic session ( using fa006 ) is quite amusing but slightly bored because of the disruption of the instruments.... ( edited )

The live concerts songs are not that lively as well...like the clapping are not really crisp and clear though.....until 10 ++ hours of burn in (edited )

If my review is not that good, you can check on the website as stated below for a better one:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/595085/review-govibe-martini-amp

Thanks for you reading.
