[WTA] Any idea to debug pc not switching on?

Hi to all sifu. I may need some help to debug the issue with my pc not able to switch on.

The issue occur after my pc hangs when browsing some stuff on chrome, then I tried the press the reset button/press and hold power button but both does nothing. Lastly my pc after hangs for about 5 mins, I just turn off the switch on the psu and then try to turn it back on, however now it never turn on anymore, even the psu fan also not spinning and no led light up on the system (casing fan/cpu fan/gpu).

What I've done so far.
1. Basic component setup to boot, mobo + cpu(intel with iGPU) + cpu fan + ram + psu ---> psu fan not spinning, system not boot up, ram led also not light up
2. Take out psu then jump pin 4 to 5 on the 24-pin and switch on ---> psu fans spinning.

What else can I do on my end to debug this issue? Since now is fmco, it is hard to send my pc over to any shop to debug/repair.

Hi to all sifu2 here,

Long story short, I think my i7-8700k that has been delidded 10 month ago is now dead R.I.P . Why? My PC cant POST when using this cpu.

Troubleshoot that I've done so far:
- Boot using iGPU with different hdmi cable
- Boot using GPU with different hdmi and display port cable
- Using single ram on different slot / borrow housemate ram too
- Reset cmos by jumper / reseat battery
- Boot with 24pin + 8pin psu cable and mobo + cpu + ram (cabut all other cables) then power on the pin manually

Other pc components should be fine I guess since when I just replace the CPU with pentium g5400, my pc able to POST fine.

Should I delid/relid and retest? Or anyone here got any experience with similar problem before?

Any feedback is welcome. Thanks

Hi all,

As per my topic title, firstly I plan to setup ftp server on my router (Dlink DIR 850L) and connect external USB hard disk to it, however later I found that my router does not support native ftp but instead it offer something called 'mydlink'. To make it worse the router only support USB2.0. So its a no go for me.

Next, my plan is to setup a ftp server on my Android Box, since it is running 24/7. Then connect my external USB hard disk to it, so that I can access the content on my local network + outside of my home. However, after some research, I read that ftp connection is not secure and there is a chance people able to sniff the username/password. Luckily I found another app that support SFTP server, so I proceed as below.

Here is my current hardware:
> My router is DLINK DIR 850L
> Android Box running 24/7 (connected via lan)
> External hard disk 2TB USB3.0 (currently connected to my Android Box USB3.0)
> My internet connection is TIME Fibre 100Mbps

Here is my configuration that I've done:
1. Set a static IP address on the Android Box
2. Plugin my external hard disk to my Android Box
3. Install SFTP server on my Android Box (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.httpsftpsserver)
4. Configure the SFTP server > create user > then mapped it to my hard disk with read/write access
5. Now, the SFTP server run successfully on port 2222
6. Setup port forwarding on my router - port 2222 to my Android Box static IP
7. Enabled all build-in Firewall on the router
8. Register and setup Dynamic DNS in the router (xxxx.dlinkddns.net)
9. Done

Results
> Able to access it using my 4G internet using my android phone with a SFTP client app (able to connect even when the Android Box is in 'sleep' mode)
> Transfer speed is pretty good
--- Filezilla with local IP (192.168.0.xxx) - read/write ~16MB/s max
--- Filezilla with Dynamic DNS (xxxx.dlinkddns.net) - read/write ~12MB/s max (maybe the limit is due to my internet speed since 100Mbps = ~12.5MB/s)

P/s: I've been thinking about buying NAS but its kinda expensive and I can't afford it at this moment. If this configuration is good and secure enough, I'll stick as it is. Thanks and sorry for a long topic explanation here

Hi guys I need help with my setup below.

I need this configuration because in my room even the WiFi 2.4GHz from Router 1 is quite weak (2 - 3 bar). Since I have this extra router laying around and don't want to spend on other solution repeater/home plug/etc, how can I solve this issue?

Switching WiFi from Router 1 to Router 1
TIME 2.4GHz (Router 1) to TIME 5GHz (Router 1) = Instant internet connection
TIME 5GHz (Router 1) to TIME 2.4GHz (Router 1) = Instant internet connection

Switching WiFi from Router 1 to Router 2
TIME 2.4GHz (Router 1) to TIME 2.4GHz (room) (Router 2) = Delay 5-10 mins before getting internet
TIME 5GHz (Router 1) to TIME 2.4GHz (room) (Router 2) = Delay 5-10 mins before getting internet

Switching WiFi from Router 2 to Router 1
TIME 2.4GHz (room) (Router 2) to TIME 2.4GHz (Router 1) = Instant internet connection
TIME 2.4GHz (room) (Router 2) to TIME 5GHz (Router 1) = Instant internet connection
