Streamyx vs Celcom 40GB plan

Hi sifus,
I'm paying 160/mth for streamyx 8MBPs package (my area got no UNIFI). The speed that i get is pretty pathetic at around 2-5mbps most of the time. Upload speed is even worst, besides capped at 0.5mbps, my usual upload speed is 0.1 - 0.5mbps making synchronizing google drive and one drive a pain in the bumbum. On many occasions, i had to connect to use personal hotspot through my phone just to get things done quicker. .. talk about paying in full and not getting serviced accordingly.

Recently celcom introduced the RM98 Voice Data plan with 20GB Weekday + 20GB Weekends (upgradeable to 40GB flat all month with an additional RM10, making it RM108/month). My area can get Celcom 4G and the speed I'm getting here is 10-20mbps download, 1-2mbps upload.

Hence i'm planning to cancel streamyx and get a celcom line and hook up it up to my home router.

1. What devices do i need to make this happen?

I know that i can stick the sim to a smartphone and broadcast using personal hot spot.

Any other better options?

2. Can I check my previous months streamyx data usage to determine whether 40GB is adequate for my house?
