World Cyber Games Launches WCG.COM

Dear All,

The World Cyber Games (WCG), the recognized blue chip leader for international video game competitions, announced that its website has re-launched with the shortened domain name WCG.com on September 1.

Thus, the World Cyber Games Malaysia's official website will shorten its domain name to http://my.wcg.com.

World Cyber Games 2008 Malaysia Championship!

Are you waiting for WCG.MY game registration? Yes! We will be opening the registration for the following game titles:

1. Half-Life™:Counter Strike: 32 slots
2. Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath™: 32 slots
3. FIFA Soccer 08™: 128 slots
4. Need for Speed™: Pro Street: 64 slots
5. StarCraft®: Brood War™: 32 slots
6. WarCraft® III : The Frozen Throne™: 32 slots

But.. CHILL first~ Registration will only be open on Thursday, 17th July 2008 at 12:00am. So stay tuned to WCG.MY Official Website!!

Registration Rules

1. 1 player can only register for 1 game.

2. Once you have registered, please check your e-mails within 3 working days (meaning, excluding Sat & Sun) for the confirmation e-mail. Make sure your e-mail is correct when you submit your registration. WCG personnel will not entertain if you did not provide necessary confirmation documents during tag collection.

3. Please prepare a 85px x 99px jpeg format picture before you register, if your picture is found to be not appropriate (nude, distorted etc.), your registration will be rejected.

4. All registered gamers must collect their gamers tag on 14 August 2008, Thursday, between 12pm to 7pm, at Hall 2 Entrance, Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. Failure to do so, your slots will be released to public registration.

5. For those who did not manage to register, be patient, should there be any tags not collected by 14 August, 2008, 7pm, slots will be released, so come by at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Hall 2 Entrance if you wish to try for a slot.

6. WCG 2008 Preliminaries winners are not required to register again, you will be contacted soon.

* The abovementioned prize will be null and void if contestant is not able to attend the Grand Final due to any reasons and no form of compensation will be available.

HOW TO REGISTER? Simple!

For INDIVIDUAL Games (FIFA & NFS)
1. Registration starts at 11:00am to 12:00pm at Plaza Low Yat, Boulevard on 30th May 2008, Friday.
2. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.
3. Slots open: 32 only.
4. For UNDER 18 years old at the time of registration (meaning below 18 years old on 30th May) please download the PARENTAL CONSENT FORM & COMPLETE BEFORE YOU COME FOR REGISTRATION. Form can be downloaded at the my.worldcybergames.com website.

For TEAM Game (DotA All-Stars)
1. Registration starts at 11:00am to 12:00pm at Plaza Low Yat, Boulevard on 31st May 2008, Saturday.
2. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.
3. Slots open: 16 only.
4. For UNDER 18 years old at the time of registration (meaning below 18 years old on 30th May) please download the PARENTAL CONSENT FORM & COMPLETE BEFORE YOU COME FOR REGISTRATION. Form can be downloaded at the my.worldcybergames.com website.

But WAIT! What about the champions last year? Here's the tough part, the last year's champions will be seeded to the FINALS. Meaning, you must challenge and WIN last year's winners at the end, and if you win, you will represent Malaysia to the WCG 2008 Asian Championship in Singapore.

Band Jam Competition in conjunction with WCG 2008 Malaysia

Good News for All! The WCG 2008 Malaysia organizers have decided to run a Band Jam Competition at the WCG 2008 Malaysia Kick-Off held on the details below:

Date : 30th & 31st May 2008
Time : 11am - 9pm
Venue: Plaza Low Yat, Boulevard (Jockey Area)

Details of the competition as below:
Participants : Everyone out there
Max No. of members in a band: 5 pax
Entry Fees : FOC
Song Origin : Any

Competition Format
1. This competition is open for 15 teams only.
2. All 15 bands will play on the 30th May 2008 as preliminary round (play once).
3. 5 bands will be shortlisted to return on the 31st May 2008 for finals with another song (play once).
4. Placing: 1st, 2nd and 3rd only.
5. Basic equipments provided:
a. 2 guitar amps
b. 1 bass amp
c. 1 keyboard amp
d. 1 x 5 piece drum set
6. Each band are only allowed to play a maximum of 3 minutes song.
7. Each band will have 5 minutes to setup their equipments.

Prizes
First Place : RM1,000.00 CASH
Second Place : RM800.00 CASH
Third Place : RM500.00 CASH

Hi all, the World Cyber Games 2008 is interested to hold a band jam competition during the WCG 2008 Kick-Off.

I'm here to do a quick survey and see the response to make a decision whether to hold the band jam competition or not. I'm leaving this poll open for a week, so, if there are anyone interested to join this competition, do spread the news to vote on this poll.

BTW, we're really noobies in the band jam "industry", so if there are any expert out there, feel free to PM me. And if you have any suggestions, feel free to speak up too.

The World Cyber Games 2008 Malaysia is back! This year, we're bringing more opportunities for you to win, win and win! Aside from the usual tournaments that will be taking place, we're kicking off the WCG 2008 Malaysia with a big bang!

The WCG 2008 Malaysia Kick-Off will be happening at Plaza Low Yat, on 30th & 31st May (Friday & Saturday)! Aside from the overwhelming opportunities to win cash & prizes, the top of the list would be the WCG Asian Championship Qualifiers!
