Acer Desktop M5711

Am using an Acer Desktop M5711 and am keen to "upgrade" the HDD to an SSD but blur about how to go about it.

1)How do I check if the M5711 supports SSD and upto what SSD it can support?

Am keen to get the Intel 520 Series 60GB to run Windows Vista Home Premium (which is the current OS in the system) but read that it can only support upto Intel 330 series.

2) Also read that I need something like Acronis to "clone" the current HDD to the SSD. But the current HDD is 320GB, how to clone to 60GB? Can we not install Windows Vista Home Premium on it then use the current HDD as a 2nd drive via RAID?

3) Does the SSD use a different cable from the HDD to connect to the motherboard?

Thanks.
