Wanna build new rig for living room

Ok so I have this living room pc, is i5 2400 use for win 7 media centre. I know nowaday not heng oredi this media centre but i guess its time to upgred to something moden.

Spec:
Intel I5 2400 / Gigabye Z77M D3H / 8GB DDR3 1600 / Some 240gb ssd / WD Blue 2TB
Zotac GTX1060 AMP 6GB / CM Elite 3XX / Silverstone es50 / Cooler Master Hyper TX3 / Win 7

Do any rekomen for living room pc?
* I got play gim one, usually those that support controller, usually emulator stuff

CPU - this one i feels susah. intel or amd?
RAM - now got 2400, 2666, 3000 so many speed, what to get? any nice one with the lampu
MOBO - i think biasa2 one ok edi. As long got the modern connection
GRAPHIC - currently got gtx 1060 so i think this one nonit to changed

Ok a little bit background, i have owned the PS1, PS2, PS3

However on PS3 i only played like 4 games : Silent Hill Homecoming, Silent Hill Downpour, GTA IV and Last of Us.

So after few yrs break, am thinking of a decent entry level VR experience

Is it worth to get a PS4 Pro and a VR headset, probably around RM3600 +/-

A entry level VR-ready rig seem like about RM3500. Then add oculus rift another RM2800+/- also quite expense liao.

Should i be spending extra RM3000 for the PC solution instead?

Item(s) conditions: Everything good except for the CPU. At idle, its about 50C. Once it starts running the browser/excel/youtube it hits 70C. If i run a game/full load it goes beyond 80 and I hear the cpu fan whirring.
The rest of the unit works well, as far as I know nothing else has problem. Webcam ok, touchpad ok, wifi ok, bluetooth ok, sdcard reader ok, cdrw ok, lcd ok.

I believe if you buy a notepad cooler it might be ok to use it (but not for gaming). Also if you want you can take it apart and change the CPU (i am not up to it myself at the moment).

I just used it today to watch a couple of youtube videos and do temperature check. If you decide to buy I'll wipe the HDD before COD.

So i been shopping for new graphic card, old unker still wanna play gim

Long ago, i rmb i had some S3 Virge in the late ninteties for play tomb raider. Then i got some moneh, i paid like RM400 for a Voodoo Banshee 16MB(!!!) kad for some awesome gimming on unreal/quake. Of course its not as sweet as actual Voodoo 2 but still, it was like half the price also.

Then for a long time I stop liao, relying on integrated graphics as I took a break

Later in mid 2000's i got a ATI X1300 Pro which was useless, i buy wrongly it had terrible FPS on my 1024x768 monitor.
Then i buyed the 7600GT, nice, can playable on Oblivion liao.
But after a while itchy hand go n buyed 7900GS pulak which was good, and enjoice some nice titles.
Then I aim the 8800GTS 320MB, i thought it was awesome and well, it did play some games at max, and was pretty good at the time.

Few yrs back, i go and buy a radeon HD7850 (impulse buy dint even research much), and it was cool also, still using it today and plays gim at good settings and can power 1080p also

Now recently pulak i buy GTX 960, and after so many yrs, i still think (sorta midrange) cards can give me awesome eye candy. Some things never change. I dont really see massive advantage over my 7850. Now the 960 sit on my htpc working hard displaying home videos, photo slideshows and playing minecraft.

Right now feel like once and for all buy a proper card like 1060 to get entry level to VR once the headsets become more accessible. Im still hovering at the RM800-1000 mark for GC, not want to spend too much.

I have a old rig, wanna play gim at higher setting. currently the fan noise i dun like and the gc weaker than my old radeon 7850 which went to anoder rig liao.

proc i5 760
mobo p7p55d-e lx (pcie 2.0 je)
ram 8gb kvr 1333
gc msi gtx 560 ti hawk
seasonic m12ii 620w psu (only got 2x 6-pin pcie)

anyone sajes a new or sekenhen card? max spend maybe RM500-RM600 la, can play nice gim like GTA V

On youtube sometime I see those ppl do like USD100 gaming rigs, can play bla bla bla

I figure can we do a decent gaming rig for say, RM500? Something realistic la. Dont go and buy a few old rig and resell the parts and the profit used to buy better stuff. I mean outright purchase from sellers like in garage sell, mudah, mana mana.

Of course, it is the tower only w/o monitor and keyboard/mouse. And lets assume we all have a copy of windows to put in.

Kam pls give ideas. Game on!
