Creative x-fi xtrememusic issues

Hey guys,

I have an Creative X-fi Xtrememusic on an Asus R2E running windows 7 64-bit.

I've done all that is necessary to have the s/card running and it worked well for a while (updated drivers and all). But then sometimes when the I restart my pc i keep getting errors saying 'No speakers or headphones are plugged in'.

Sometimes, when i click on the sound icon on the taskbar, there's an option to 'Apply this Fix' or 'Skip this fix'. And sometimes 'Apply this fix' works but other times it doesnt. And most of the time troubleshooting just couldn't identify the problem.

And sometimes when i restart the pc several times the sound works fine.

These 'sometimes' issue is killing me. I can't slot the card in a different pci slot as rampage only have 1 (wish i had gotten a pci-e s/c instead).\

Does anyone have any idea why? Issit possible i need to send in my MB for RMA?
