Tyre Advice for Proton Saga FL 2011 175/70/R13

Hey All,

My tyre just punctured yesterday so I'm on a hunt to find a replacement for it.

Currently I'm using Silverstone tyres, which I understand isn't all that great but as I mainly drive short distance from home to work everyday and occasionally drive from PJ to KL once or twice a month, so my requirement for tyres aren't that high.

I also converted back to stock rims as when the car was handed down to me, it was on R14 sport rims with the wrong tyre size and the wheel kept hitting the wheel fender. As I was new to cars then, I just opted the easy way out and go back to stock.

So now its a new time for me to replace my tyres, I did some research myself and spoke to some online sellers for their advise and the general advice is:

1. Change at least 2 tyre at 1 go as it's not advisable to run tyres with different tyre pattern and thread wear. Is this true?

2. R14 have more tyre options and even cheaper options. I've looked around and there seems to be more options for R14, but price range is quite similar to R13. Also there's also some mention of better fuel efficiency with wider rims, are these savings enough to justify a rim change?

3. At the entry level price point, wet grip is pretty much similar as long as the tyres are new. I almost got into 2 accident due to previous R14 tyres having bad wet grip (not sure if it's bad tyre brand or just a really old tyre), so I specifically asked the tyre seller on the online platform, but this is like saying all new tyres are good lol.

Currently I'm looking to replace 2 tyres with the Viking CT6 as it is from a reputable brand, but the online seller recommended if I need a more budget option, I could go for China tyres - Yatone P308. Anyone have any experience with these? Couldn't find any local reviews for this particular brand.

Based on my research online the price difference between each class of tyres is roughly RM 20.

China Tyres - Yatone P308 = RM 112
Entry Level - Viking CT6 = RM 130
Mid Range - Dunlop J6 = RM 150

Is the RM 20 worth the upgrade or downgrade? From CT6 to China tyres, or from CT6 to J6.

I'm very tempted to try out the China tyres as my driving pattern shouldn't stress out the tyres too much.

Sifus please share some wisdom with my in case I overlooked any important factors to consider.

Anyone actually manage to get through the vaccination hotline 1800 888 828?

I got my first dose of vaccination under selvax industry about 2 weeks ago but they use another registration system under selangkah. and just so happen that selangkah appointment system for private sector is down and not working, so the registration it's all done "manually".

after jabbing, you'll have to fill in a google form, so they can "manually" upload it to match the mysejahtera database.

but during the weekend, i suddenly got an appointment from mysejahtera for another jab in another location...

now i've been calling them everyday but never had i heard anything else other than "our lines are busy, please call back later", now i have no choice but to cancel the appointment under the reason "having other things to do" as there's no other better reason to give.

my colleague lagi funny, got appointment from JKJAV website, but it doesn't appear on mysejahtera, so they can't even decline the appointment since the JKJAV website have no function for you to decline the appointment.

Grabfood Rant

Always heard bad things happen to Foodpanda. But guess today I experienced the same thing with Grabfood as well. Not the first time for me cuz last time they deliver my dinner late by 3 hours. Order 5pm, estimated reach 6pm, but actual reach 9pm lol. And restaurant the place is like 5-10 minutes away using bike. Anyways, today's rant:

So, one of my colleagues wanted to treat our department for lunch and we decided to order Village Park Nasi Lemak from Grabfood. I know for a fact that the order is quite big so I was planning to do two orders. But unlucky me, that colleague was out of office for something important, and after reading the FAQ, apparently one order has to be completed before making another one. So I have no choice but to order everything in 1 order by myself.

I’ve placed an order on 11 a.m. and waited, the estimated time was around 35 minutes. The rider assigned is already on the spot so I was like, how long could this take? Given my previous experience with my personal orders from this restaurant, I’d say it’ll take about an hour max.

After about 45 minutes of meeting, I came out and saw that the estimated time is still 30+ minutes, then I found out 3 previous drivers had cancelled their delivery. So I asked the current rider what’s the issue, and apparently the order was too big. He also say normally for a order so big need 2 riders but I told him I wasn’t given the option when I order, so he proposed that I pay another rider for delivery but it’ll be RM15 instead of RM5 cuz their fee structure not just the flat RM5. But I was already on the phone with Grab’s customer support when he replied that.

I mean it’s a given that if you’re going to restrict my number of orders, you should’ve probably checked and assigned enough resources. If you allowed me to order twice instead, I would’ve definitely split that order.

Me: My order too big, 3 riders cancelled already, can you assigned two drivers to the order and I’ll pay the extra?
Grab CS: Oh, if it’s too big then the riders should call us and we’ll have them make two trips and compensate twice. Please tell your rider to contact us.
Me: But 3 riders already cancelled, if that’s the SOP wouldn’t you already receive a call? So what am I going to do if they cancel again?
Grab CS: Oh, they won’t cancel because they can’t get the compensation.
Me: Ya, if they not going to send, they won’t get it anyways….

When I got off the phone, no surprise, the driver cancelled the delivery. When the next rider was assigned, I immediately told him the problem and ask him to contact support. Then the rider told me yea, the order too big, and the delivery is also it’s quite far away. And no, that’s not the SOP and asked me for the contact of the previous rider. Then approximately a few minutes later, the whole order was cancelled. Not just the delivery, but the whole order. And the restaurant was temporary closed also due to lunch rush hour. So, I called back Grab CS.

Me: I called just now about order being too big, etc. But now cancelled, so how?
Grab CS: Oh the rider “accidentally” cancelled it. Maybe you can make the order again?
Me: How to order when the restaurant is temporarily closed?
Grab CS: Let me put you on hold and check… Oh the restaurant isn’t picking up, maybe you can order again? At another restaurant?
Me: Really? Nothing else you can do?

Grabfood’s solution tl;dr –
Oh your rider can’t pick up your order? That's impossible, they would've contacted us already if there's an issue.
Oh your order was cancelled? Too bad, try ordering again.
Oh it’s no longer available? Too bad, try ordering from ANOTHER restaurant then.

End of the day we drove out to dabao Nasi Dagang from Capital instead and everyone had late lunch. And now I got 150 bucks loaded in Grabpay for no reason. Now rarely use Grabfood already cuz cannot schedule order anymore after merging app, so where are good places that accept Grabpay ya?

Diagnose PC Part Problems

Hi all, I sold my Kingston DDR4 2400 Hyper X 8 GB RAM back then when mining was dead.

Recently I came across a pretty cheap G4560 CPU so I bought it. Also bought a replacement RAM GEIL EVO SPEAR 8GB DDR4 3000 MHz for cheap. Was planning to build a budget rig using the remainder TB250 BTC Pro Motherboard and PSU for my parents for maybe HTPC or just normal browsing and such.

But now I can't boot the PC. After powering on, there's no display and the PC reboots and the CPU Fan goes to max speed. I'm assuming it's a RAM problem as when I put back my old CPU the same happens.

As I do not have other parts, do you guys know if there is any shop that can diagnose the parts around PJ / Old Klang Road for cheap or free?

Transferring Properties

Backstory:
My relative owes my parents money. They got no cash to payback so offered to transfer their fully paid property to my parents as a repayment (Sign SPA with no actual cash transaction).

But my parents think it’s better to have them transfer the property to my name instead, so they considered some options:
1) The relative will sign SPA with them and transfer to them, and they will transfer to me later. But this will result in RPGT so it seems like a no go.
2) The relative will sign SPA directly with me. But as my salary is only fresh graduate level, so they worry maybe LHDN will query because there is no cash transaction so I will not be applying for a loan, so they might see it as a cash purchase. But we do plan on refinancing the property after the transfer is done so my parents can get some cash back while I’ll be the slave to pay off the debt.

The main reason that we do not want to apply for a loan is scared that the bank will disburse the sum to my relative and they will take the money and run away instead.

tl;dr
What is the cheapest way to transfer properties with the following factors?
• Just transfer, no cash transaction
• Don’t want to do two transfers as there will be RPGT
• Purchaser fresh graduate salary, might not be able to buy using cash (Don’t want to attract LHDN)
• Property value according to Brickz – Approximately RM300k
