Got the 530e as replacement, but no charging cable

Hey peeps,

My car is still in the service center but they asked me to return the X3 (because road tax was expiring) and they replaced it with the 530e M Sport. The problem is that they wouldn't give me the charging cable and charging card. Are there any charging locations near Cyberjaya/Putrajaya that has the (Type 2?) cable permanently attached to the machine? Alternatively, are there any kind forummers that can let me charge my loaned car at your location (with your cable) for about three hours?

The car just got off the trailer from the main distributor (BMW Malaysia?), its odometer is only 50 km (Not 50k km) - it came with no charge and an empty tank. I had to fuel-up and surprisingly it took only 30+++ liters, but then I remembered the battery cells took up the boot space and the fuel tank has lower capacity than a typical ICE-only car

Having said that, I can still drive the car even if the li-ion battery has no charge, I can even charge the battery while running the car (using the regenerative braking. Not sure if it is just that) But where is the fun in driving a PHEV while having to charge the car? I intend on making full-use of its capabilities.

p/s its B48 engine is one of the weakest offered by BMW. Clearly it is meant to be used with the electric motor. Unfortunately I haven't caught a charging station with an in-built cable.

"Bagi Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Masjid Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Bukit Jelutong dan Masjid Raja Haji Fi Sabilillah Cyberjaya, jumlah jemaah yang ditetapkan bagi solat Jumaat dan solat fardhu adalah 1,000 orang, tidak termasuk pegawai dan ahli jawatankuasa masjid.

"Manakala jumlah jemaah bagi semua masjid lain untuk solat Jumaat dan solat fardhu ditetapkan maksimum 500 orang, tidak termasuk pegawai dan ahli jawatankuasa masjid yang mana ia tertakluk kepada kapasiti masjid berkenaan," katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Beliau berkata, bagi Surau Kebenaran Solat Jumaat, jumlah jemaah untuk solat Jumaat dan solat fardhu ditetapkan 40 orang, tidak termasuk pegawai dan ahli jawatankuasa surau itu. Untuk surau bagi solat fardhu pula kata Mohamad Munir, jumlah jemaah yang ditetapkan 40 orang tidak termasuk pegawai dan ahli jawatankuasa surau.

Mengenai ibadah korban sempena Aidiladha, beliau berkata, Sultan Sharafuddin bertitah supaya ia dilakukan di masjid sahaja dan mana-mana surau yang telah merancang untuk melakukan ibadah itu boleh melaksanakannya di masjid berdekatan. Mohamad Munir berkata, segala pelaksanaan dan urusan pentadbiran berkaitan titah terbaharu Sultan Selangor akan dikeluarkan oleh JAIS serta jawatankuasa masjid dan surau berkaitan.

"Baginda turut menitahkan supaya semua jemaah mematuhi SOP yang ditetapkan khususnya berwuduk di rumah, membawa sejadah masing-masing, memakai pelitup separuh muka semasa hadir ke masjid atau surau serta mengamalkan jarak sosial. Mereka yang tidak sihat dilarang untuk solat di masjid serta surau," katanya.

2. Is the Oracle wrapping brand OK? I asked if they used 3M, they were honest and said no, it would be Oracle. Is this a name brand?

So I will add more black bits to my car. I want it to look menacing as I zoom through the highway. Maybe the colors and style are not to your liking, that is ok. It is my car and I am the one who needs to be pleased

The older (pre facelift) was sold for RM1M++, this one will likely be the same if not higher (or perhaps lower because of the tax discount?)

+ 3 dimensional tail-light (just for looks), which is already in a few BMW models including the G20 3 Series

Take note that this is not a sports car, it's a car for for business executives who wants to feel a little excitement in his daily drive. Not meant for everyone, it is a luxury product

My body-kit guy quoted me RM600 to paint all my rims black - I'm likely going for glossy black, just like my body kits (the aftermarket ones la hehehe). I am being quoted RM600 for that. Is that a good price?

It is not plastidip. The wheels will be painted just like the body panels - glossy and shiny

p/s I will also paint the chrome parts of my old front grille black, that way I can have two designs, the honey-comb and the original grille

A car is a tool, not an investment

So many car-decision threads, so many misconceptions, I will clear this up:

Cars are tools with depreciating value and their current intrinsic value is determined by how they are utilized by their owners. While it is true that you need to invest in yourself/your-business, paying for these tools do not make them your investment

On the work level, good tools help with work which may end up yielding better results:

+ Programmers/developers need good workstations to complete their tasks efficiently, these computers lose value over time just like any electronics. Sure, they can rely on older machines to get the job done, but they would not be as efficient and be less competitive to those who can complete their work in shorter duration

+ Tradesmen using older, unreliable tools may end up having their work affected - inaccurately drilled holes, shorter/longer cuts than required; these issues can be addressed by purchasing new tools so their work can be done more efficiently, more accurately, and within shorter duration

+ Doctors and dentist have to spend money on their tools so they are able to make better diagnosis, consultation, and treatment

On the personal level, cars can be considered as tools or a form of utility because:

+ Newish cars are more reliable
+ Faster cars help cut down on travel-time
+ Cars with better creature comfort may relieve stress caused by driving
+ Safer cars keep the driver and passengers alive - ABS, EBD, AEB, lane assist/control/keep, LED/laserlight, Autopilot, drowsiness-detector, all-round airbags, seatbelt pretensioner

tl;dr: Invest in yourself or your business, buy these new/imported/Conti cars as a tool if you need to and have the means to do so, but paying for them do not make them your investments. They are simply your personal and/or business/work tools. Their values will depreciate, but you can enjoy them while they last

I searched high-and-low for the Sunset Orange G20 in M-Performance kit but couldn't find enough examples - only one person posted his but he didn't have proper pictures of his car. I was worried if this would end up looking bad - however as it turns out, I am loving it! The diamond grille sits really close to my heart, I kinda dislike the original chrome-covered grille. Damage? RM2,000+++; All the parts installed are M-performance (aftermarket) in 'Piano Black' (glossy black), so they should be OK:

1. Front splitter
2. Side skirts
3. Rear diffuser
4. Rear spoiler
5. Diamond grille

Btw, original M-Performance parts would have cost the size of a small car so installing these are much more feasible

For RM13k, you can get either a Sony 85" LED, or a Sony/LG 65" OLED TV. If space is not really a constraint for large TV sizes (terrace house living room), would you go for OLED or LED?

No Samsung QLED please, I can't tell the difference between than to an LED. If i am going to pay more, might as well get OLED

p/s please don't tag the TV guy, not interested in a 75" LED TV

p/s2 VP March 2021 but likely to be delayed by a few months due to MCO. Probably can save even more as the prices will drop or can maintain the budget and buy even larger TV hehehe

My work requires that I use an ipad. Currently using iPad Air 2, but I think it is due for an upgrade since I need to leave one iPad to my staff for them to do their work on that iPad. I am thinking of getting one for my own use so I can do said work on my own time

I am open to new things, if the iPad is capable, I wouldn't mind using it as my main work/consumption device (spotify, youtube, netflix, etc). Having a "pencil" may be advantageous too when I need to present things to my clients/prospects. Right now I don't even know which iPads are compatible with the Pencil. Is it only the Pro? Budget should be RM5k and below, it is flexible, but I don't like to spend more than I need to. Currently I am using my android phone for media consumption on the go, never to do any work
