Need to wait for more than 20minutes. The driver currently sending his customer to the destination. Then only come and pick up ayam.

UPGRADE: Z250sl vs Z800

Thinking of upgrading. How much difference?

I'm using Z250sl right now to commute from my house in puncak jalil area to bukit bintang. I just bought my brother Z250sl 3 months ago (rarely used it) and only use it to office since last week. Previously use wave only . Scared can't handle the 250 in town. Surprisingly, it's much much easier than my thought.

after two weeks experience, I'm now thinking about upgrading to higher cc bike. Can't tahan seeing kapcai taking over in MEX highway. haha. My friend offer me his Z800 (cont serving the bank loan for the next 40months. 2013 manufacturing year). He want to change to something else.

I'm doing small research about it. Hopefully bike kakis can help me.

Those are things I need to know the different between Z250sl and Z800:

1) how much different in term of control between the two bike?
2) weight wise, it's significant different?
3) Z800 easy to handle in town like z250sl?
4) fuel and maintenance. Not part of the consideration, just as added information.
5) others? anything you want to share.

New job. New company want me to join them early.

Dear K,

Need your expert advise.

Early December last month, I went to an job interview. One week later, received a phone call offering me the job. Both agreed on my 3 months notice period with my current employer. Offer letter received on 21 Dec. Just now, they call me again. Asking me whether I can join them early, as early as 1 Feb, or even next week if possible. They are willing to pay for the compensation required to buy the notice period (normal and almost all k/ face this before).

Should I go for it or should I serve my 3 months notice?

I like the idea of enjoying my 3 months leisure period (still doing the job professionally but with less stress and expectation, especially in year end/early year hectic period + KPI session etc.

if I join them early, the good thing are new salary (not much either, just increase about 15%) and I get enough time to familiarize their operation and financial reporting 2016 before April 2017 dateline. I expect the employer will expect me to be the signatory in 2016 financial report.

K, please give your 2 cents.

travel to work

Hi,

this morning ayam received a phone call from the company ayam attended interview last week. The offer package come with car and petrol allowance, which then sure required ayam to drive to office even though ayam job scope might not required frequent travelling with in klang valley.

currently ayam stay in puncak jalil (own house), taking bike to work in KL sentral area - menara shell to be exact. It's take about 30 minutes morning and evening from home-office and office-home (bike not really have any significant difference whatever time the travelling take place).

Now, the company that offer ayam work, located at Chow Kit. Ayam need K/ advice about the travelling time required, route, or even ayam need to rent a house nearby, should it worth more than travelling from/to puncak jalil on daily basis.

Parking is provided though.

Malaysian politician faked pictures of knighthood from the Queen

A Malaysian politician is facing the sack for superimposing his head on to a picture of the Queen giving out honours in an attempt to claim he had been knighted.

Jeffrey Wong Su En has been accused of insulting the Commonwealth with his false claims.

"Sir" Wong issued a press release detailing his award and became an overnight celebrity in Malaysia, where society has become obsessed by people with titles.

In the doctored picture issued by Mr Wong, he stands proud as Her Majesty pins the Knight Grand Cross to his breast.

However, his name does not appear in the Queen's birthday honours list.

"We can confirm that we have no record of any honour having been conferred at any time by the British Government on Jeffery Wong Su En," said a spokesperson from the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

An analysis of Mr Wong's photograph of him holding a certificate shows a crest at the top of the certificate claiming to be from Buckingham Palace, with a red seal.

In fact, warrants for such honours are administered by the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, which is based at St James's Palace. Mr Wong's certificate bears no resemblance to the Royal warrants used for such honours.

The collar worn by Mr Wong is not the pure gold collar of the British Empire worn at knighthood investitures. Finally, the knighthood investiture ceremonies for the 2010 birthday honours list have not yet taken place.

Mr Wong, who is the deputy publicity chief for the Democratic Action Party, a Malaysian opposition party in Sabah, northern Borneo, claims the honour was in recognition of his contribution to aid organisation, Médecins Sans Frontières.

Rival politicians in the state immediately demanded an explanation.

Mr Wong, a self-proclaimed traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who also insists on the title "Dr", attempted to clarify the matter, defiantly claiming his "knighthood" was conferred by Papua New Guinea in conjunction with the Queen's 84th birthday celebrations.

"This is a personal matter. It has nothing to do with the public, and it is becoming politicised," he said, stating he is in the process of getting the relevant documents from the Papua New Guinea government.

Mr Wong has been questioned by police but was later released. However, he is facing expulsion from his party.

Chin Teck Ming, supreme councillor of a rival party stated that if the claim is indeed false, Mr Wong had insulted a foreign monarch and members of the Commonwealth countries and tarnished the image of Malaysia.

But since last week, saw a lot of lorries/new stall selling durian. Is it local durian season or still Thailand one?

Ayam didn't hear any durian season from friends in kampong2. Only rambutan got news.

house 20km radius from shah alam

My brother is currently renting a house in saujana putra with monthly rental is about 1k, He is working in shah alam. He got promoted in office and get about 2k increment which now becoming rm8.7.

Now he is looking to buy his own house which monthly repayment can only come from the increment (probably 1400 net) and the rental payment his currently paid. So in total, it is about 2.4k.

Accumulating 10% cash up front is a big problem for him, while epf account 2 has been assigned to his apartment in Tanjung Malim (his previous employment) with approximately 60k remaining principal.

There are few option we're able to come out with:

1. Buy new launch with minimal up front payment. Is there still available? Please share if any.
2. Saving 1500 per month for 2-3 years then top up with epf account 2 to fully settle his apartment loan so then he can use epf acc 2 for future withdrawal on his new house. Do epf allowed this arrangement? - withdrawal for his 2nd home. (his current balance epf acc 2 is around 30k with annual contribution is approximately 10k - inclusive bonus)
3. Saving 1500 per month for 2-3 years to pay for 10% downpayment. Will get about 60k after 3 years. But how much house price will be by then..
4. Looking for "10% above market value" valuation or house selling price 10% lower than market value. This one is difficult to get at this time.

option 2 and 3 are about the same. The diff is about manipulating the epf facility for additional cash flow.

Any other suggestion? thanking all of you in advance.

Hi all. I'm in the mildst of renovating my house. Now looking for finishing like bath tub, sink, bathroom equipments, audio system etc. Heard that price in Singapore and Thailand somehow much cheaper than in Malaysia. I have a friend frequently went to Singapore since he has family overthere. Seem very easy to enter Singapore without many procedure (never been there). Thinking of buying my reno stuff there and bring back home using my MPV.

Any idea which shop / brand / equipment worth to share with others?

Wall skimming

this problem wont arise if the initial worker for developer doing their job nicely. but not all developer ensure their product (house) finished with good plaster finishing.

my wall plaster is not properly installed thus make it look cheap, especially if paint with bright color.

how do i overcome this problem? need to remove the existing plaster or can just do the skimming which is normal? is skimming normal, btw?

if ask contractor to do skimming, how much is the standard/average price?
