how to check if router is spoilt

guys, sifus, n mastahs,
i need your help to determine if my router is already kaput.how do i do that?i works fine until just recently.
i tried connecting to net using just the modem n failed so i guess the modem is out.i bought a new modem n itz working fine right now.
i tried connecting the router...the power seems to blink on all ports during startup but the there's no light when i connect cable to the WAN port.other ports lit when cable is inserted.
so does this mean my router is dead?

i'm doing this assignment which is to generate invoice.im at the final stage but the program cant display item number.what i meant by item number is not the ID number in database but the number increment for each line of item.like in this pic:

hello n good day,

there's this pc at this company im working for (as a trainee) that needs repair.they say the windows corrupt.they gave me a windows cd and ask me to help them format.problem is...i dont know why,it managed to format the hd and copy the setup files but when it restarts to install windows, it says "error to load operating system".i tried again and the same thing happens. any idea how i can fix this?thanx in advance
