Gym membership transfers

Alright. This here thread will be where you post gym membership transfers.

This is not a discussion thread.

People who want to transfer their memberships post, people who are interested contact them directly.

Example of what you should include in your post.

QUOTE

Gym name
Gym location
Membership details

Email
MSN
Phone
w/e other form of contact you want to add.

Again, this is not a discussion thread. If you want to transfer your membership to someone else, you post ONE post here with the important details and contact information. If you want to take someone's membership, CONTACT THE PERSON DIRECTLY (via pm, phone, email, whatever), DO NOT POST QUESTIONS HERE.

Edit to add(04/11/08):

If you've transfered your membership please edit your post to reflect that or pm me to have it edited.

Guys/girls, again, this thread is for the advertisements of transfers only, all other posts will be removed. PM the people who have memberships you are interested in and discuss it in pm's.

Also, if your membership has been transfered, please edit your advertisement to reflect that.

**READ THIS BEFORE POSTING** Revised Sept 17 07

These are for the most part guidelines and don't necessarily have to be followed to the letter, with the exception of rule 7.

1) Before starting a new thread with a question
Use the SEARCH function, chances are someone has already asked that question, GOOGLE alot of basic questions can be answered with a simple google search or quick search on wikipedia. Mayoclinic.org also serves as a good source of medical information.

examples of questions you should NOT post: "what is cardio?", "i'm too lazy to exercise, how come i cant lose weight?", etc.

Searching first saves everyone time, you included.

Another thing to remember is that doctor's opinions far outweigh that of an unknown individual on the internet, if you have a medical condition which you're worried about SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE from an ACTUAL DOCTOR. While we may have MD's and med students here, it's the internet and people can very easily falsify their identities and qualifications. So before you post your question asking for some form of diagnosis, realise that you may be getting a diagnosis from a 8 year old and a well spoken 8 year old can be mighty convincing when his identity is concealed.

Your first choice of action when faced with any health issues serious enough(In your opinion) to cause worry should be to consult a doctor.

2) Flaming, trolling or otherwise being a menace on the forum.
Be respectful to everyone, that means NO FLAMING, I can understand a few outbursts and some profanity can sometimes be unavoidable but that doesn't make it right.

Using "***" or replacing letters with "@#$" doesnt mean we don't know what you're saying, it still offends people.

Learn to take insults and negative comments. This is a public forum, expect to recieve some flames, insults and other forms of negative comments. If you cannot stand taking comments which offend you, either grow a thicker skin or stay off the internet. Mods/Staff/Admins/ThePowersThatBe are not going to be there to keep things peachy every minute of every day.

Do not respond to flames in like, if you get flamed ignore it or report it. Be aware that if you deserved the flame, there will probably be no action taken.

3) Spamming
While the occasional off-topic post is fine but do try to keep on topic, noone likes it when someone comes into their thread changes the subject to something completely unrelated and then ends up with their thread being closed.

4) Spelling, grammer & double posting
I understand not all Malaysians are proficient in the english language but I do urge you to TRY, 'cause honestly sometimes it's just impossible to understand what some of you are trying to say.

Another thing, please type out the full words instead of cutting words in half and replacing letters with numbers, its annoying.

Example: the word "what" is spelled with four letters, like so "w h a t" not "w u t" or "w a t". If you're incapable of spelling... I suggest you go for english lessons.

Please try not to double post, if you post something and decide to add something on to it, use the edit button. If you're posting in reply to multiple posts, use the quote button, it allows you to quote multiple posts into your reply.

5) NO SMARTASSING
Sarcastic responses to requests for help, false information, grandmother's mythical remedies and stuff like that. Tak nak. Helps noone, does nothing for the community and is a waste of server space.

6) Be specific, don't ask general and vague questions
Let us know what it is you want to accomplish and what information you lack to accomplish it. If forum members don't know what you specifically need in your first post, you'll get a lot of idiotic posts resulting in time wasted for everyone, as well as frustration of the mods. PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR PROBLEM AS THE TITLE THEN ASK IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS. POST THE BASIC INFO IN THE THREAD TITLE FOLLOWED BY DETAILS IN THE POST ITSELF.

7) Advertisements and Sales
Advertisements/sales are not allowed in the Health and Fitness section.
Posting product information and availability is fine if you're replying to a request for information, should you be a salesperson of the product in question PM the inquiring user, DO NOT post an ad with your sales link or contact details.

This includes implicit Facebook page linking / bloglinking / store linking and links to thread(s) in the Trade Zone

8) Actions taken by mods are done so in the best interest of the forum.
If you are unhappy with a decision taken by a mod take it up with the mod or someone higher up.

While on the subject, please remember that you agreed to the terms of agreements when you registered as a member of this forum, you do not have freedom of speech. Mods/staff/admins have the right to edit, move and delete posts/threads as they see fit.

9) Stop reviving dead threads
If a the thread is over 2 weeks old and the original poster has stopped posting in it... leave it alone. Of course if you have something really important to add then you're welcome to do so. But if you're simply adding something for the sake of posting or repeating what has already been posted, you're being counter productive and that's stupid.

Another thing about reviving dead threads is that it removes active threads from the first page, it's annoying don't do it.

10) Individual's pictures
When someone posts a picture of themselves on the internet especially progress pictures, it's a very personal thing. They are sharing their effort and work with you.
Don't make fun of them or flame them, it's very discouraging and can be extremely embarassing.

11) Plagiarism
I would have thought it would be common sense to credit sources/authors of any articles posted... But since it appears people lack certain common senses... Don't plagiarize, it's illegal.

12) Weight gain threads
When someone asks how to gain weight, 99.99 out of a 100 times, he's not asking you how to get fat. Stop posting "eat alot and sleep" or eat junk food all day or some unhealthy crap like that. That helps noone and just annoys everyone else.

13) Yellow pages we are not
Stop opening threads to ask where to get a particular something, where to find who and what. We aren't yellow pages. If you don't know where to find it, try google. IF you still can't find it... that's just too bad for you.

14) Personal diet/workout advice thread should go in the Member Workout / Diet Journals sections
If you're looking for help to tweak your current diet and exercise program, please create a journal thread instead.

Please TRY to follow the rules when posting, while it is understandable for one to step out of line on occasion doing so continuously will result in actions taken against you.

Thank you.

-credit to Joey-kun for helping me draft the rules list.
