Having a CO2 Drop Checker that does not turn green?
Or your Drop Checker is always Yellow?

Especially for Up Aqua CO2 monitor and any other monitor that instructs you to mix the blue solution (BTB) with your tank water.
This is the solution.

Some of the CO2 monitor makers will give you the wrong instruction which is to fill the CO2 monitor with your tank water and mix it with BTB (borothymol blue) solution. This will work only if you have a 4 dKH water in your tank. Because only with a 4 dkh water, with pH 6.6 then you will have 30 ppm CO2 reading which is indicated by the green color in the CO2 monitor.

But how green is green? There are many shades of green. Using 1 CO2 monitor with 4 dKH + BTB, you will have a range from 25 - 40 ppm CO2. How about using 2 CO2 monitors with 2 solutions with each solution having different KH? You will have a reading of 27.5 ppm - 32.5 ppm CO2.

How does it works?

Solution no 1 : 2.72 dKH water mix with BTB = Range for green color is 12.9 - 32.5 ppm CO2.
Solution no 2 : 5.78 dKH water mix with BTB = Range for green color is 27.5 - 69.1 ppm CO2.

Results: When you have green in both indicators, you will be assured that you are having 27.5 ppm - 32.5 ppm CO2.

What is dry fertilizer?
Dry fertilizer is the component used in your branded liquid fertilizer except that its in dry form before being liquidized to become liquid fertilizer. You can either dose the dry form directly into your aquarium or you can dictate the concentration of your nutrients into liquidized form and dose it into your planted tank.

Dry Fertilizer Macro Nutrients :
1) KNO3 - gives K (potassium) and N (nitrogen)

Dry Fertilizer Micro Nutrients :
1) Plantex CSM + B - *{safe for shrimps}

- Ferum as Ferric Ion hence the brown color
2) Miller's Microplex - *{focusing on plant growth, not advisable for shrimps if used alone}
