MBP 17 & 15 Late 2011

Hi All,

Would like to know if anybody here successfully upgrade:

1. 16gb RAM 1666Mhz.

The specs said only covers up to 8Gb 1333Mhz and other manage to install 16Gb 1333Mhz. Since the 1333Mhz and 1666Mhz price is the most likely the same, i want to know if anyone has tried this?

2. Sata 3 SSD in Optical Drive

Based on my reading only mbp 13 for 2011 can successfully installed sata 3 ssd in optical drive. The result for 15 and 17 model are most of them failed.

Just want to know if anyone succeeded to try this.

Just want to treat my mbp 17 a boost since it has been serving me well for the pass 4 years.

my beloved mbp's just got problem. the screen showed stripes. i got the mbp covered in extended warranty but i'm damn worry because mbp 17 no longer in production. dont know whether they still got spare part or not..or mybe i even need to pay because of the discontinue models.

any thought of my case? most probably what gonna happened if i send over for warranty?

just wanna ask how owner of macbook pro clean their macbook body?i know how to clean the screen and the outside of it.

but don't have any idea how to clean the keyboard area,touchpad and speaker..so scared if used same liquid for the screen and body will damage the speaker,touchpad or keyboard

I had one Macbook 17 Late 2011 model. 4gb ram of 1333 ghz. it still under extended care until march 2015

questions:
- i want to upgrade my ram up to 16gb. is something happened during dat time, will the warranty void since it clearly stated the system only support 8gb? *although people keep saying it can run up to 16gb.

- can it run on 1600 ghz ram? will it affect the warranty as well?
