Does anyone here know where I can get PALING or BINA (BBB) cold water pressure pipe in Puchong or surrounding area?
I know I can get it in KL but would like to check to see if I can get them in Puchong or Seri Kembangan.

swimming pool piping

thinking of doing a swimming for the kids. I would like to know what is a good pipe to use from the swimming pool piping system.

I was quoted around 100K by them to build a swimming pool around the size of 10' x 30'.
Their system is simple .. there is no piping like the standard/traditional system. There is only one filtration machine that they put at the side of the swimming pool.
Has anyone used this system before? Would like to know how good this is.

I also asked them if I can just purchase their filtration machine and after thinking about it they said it is 45K just for the machine.
I can build the concrete pool myself .. just wondering if it is worth it.

Is there a similar system out there? I don't like the standard/traditional system because it gives headache all the time.

UV lights for pond

I have a fish pond where the size is about 12' x 5' x 2' deep.
i am having some problem with green algae now. Been told to get a uv light to kill the algae.
Anyone knows a good uv light that is suitable for pond? which brand is good?

copper vs stainless steel

i would like to know which pipe is better:

1/2 inch copper pipe
or
1/2 inch stainless steel pipe

I am talking about the s/s pipe that is similar to copper in thickness ... not the thick one where you need to use a machine to make the thread. For this s/s pipe, I can use copper fittings.

So, which one is better?

As for price, I know copper is more expensive in this case since it is RM75/per 6m length.
Whereas the thin s/s pipe is only RM2/ft.

hot water for one shower

I have a standalone single story building at the back of my house and it has a bathroom. I would like to supply hot water for the shower but I think buying a solar powered one is a waster since it is just for one bathroom.
I dont like the instant type where the unit is visible. What other choices do I have?

Is there a small solar water heater just for a single bathroom?

stained/leaded art glass

I got a quote of RM1500 for one piece of stained and leaded art glass panel (8mm thick). The size of the panel is 8' (height) x 1' (width).
Is the price reasonable? Anyone done something similar before?
I need 3 panels - total is RM4500. Plus there is a RM2000 installation charge.
I thought this is expensive. What do you guys think?

basic pond setup

What's the basic setup for a small fish pond? Not talking about koi pond .. just a normal fish pond around 4' x 8' in size.
Do I really need a filter/skimmer? I want to know how the water pipes are setup and if someone has a diagram to show, that would be perfect.

I am looking for a good and reliable products for IP-based CCTV.

I need:

- a good 8-channel or more NVR
- a few outdoor IP cameras (around 2 megapixels) with PoE support.
(4 or more, haven't decided on actual quantity yet)

All items must be good and reliable... dont want 'cap-ayam'.
I will DIY the installation myself.

Can someone recommend something and let me know where to get them?

Please do NOT suggest analog based CCTV because I have pretty much decided to use IP-based CCTV.

2x2 tiling charges

I have been quoted the following for tiles installation.

2x2 and 1x2 tiles (for flooring)
RM2.50 per sqft

skirting installation
RM10/piece (one piece is 2 ft long)

For wall, 1x2 tiles, the charge is RM3.00 per sqft.

The above is labour charge only. Materials (cement, sand etc) on me.

Is this the market rate now?

joining 2 water tank together

Hello ... I would like to check what is the best way to connect 2 water tanks of equal size?
do you join them up using a pipe at the top of the tank or at the bottom of the tank.
I am talking about 400-gallon poly tanks - not those stainless steel ones.
does anyone here has a diagram to share?
I want to make sure I understand the pros and cons of each method before i ask the plumber to do it for me.

feruni marble-like porcelain tiles

Has anyone used feruni marble-like porcelain tiles (1 x 2, 2 x 2)? They look really nice. Just dont know how good the tiles are from feruni.
Anyone used them before? They are quite expensive but much cheaper than real marbles.
I like crema marfil marbles but they are really expensive. Anyone knows where I can get them cheap?
Also, is marble suitable for use in bathroom (wall and floor)?

main/front door

I am looking for a main/front door that is well built/solid and does not required ugly-looking grille for security. I know there is this stainless steel door from Janus and a few local manufacturers but I think they all look ugly. What other options do I have?

Normally, the inside walls are skim-coated using ASG/USG etc to get a smooth finishing. What about outside walls? Do people skim-coat outside walls - and if so can it really last with the heavy rain that we get in Malaysia?
