Toy Gun Confiscation...

Transportation SecurityAdministration workers can face real danger, as was demonstrated during the deadly shooting at Los Angeles International Airport last month.

Still, confiscating a sock monkey's sidearm? Washington state resident Phyllis May told Seattle's King5.com that she was chastised by a TSA agent over the fact that her stuffed sockmonkey (name: Rooster Monkburn, a takeoff on Rooster Cogburn of "True Grit" fame) carried a toy pistol.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

May told King5.com that she and her husband were going through security at St. Louis International Airport when aTSA agent held up one of her bags and asked who it belonged to.

May, who sells customized sockmonkeys online, told the agent it belonged to her. That's then things took aturn for the surreal.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

“She said, 'This is a gun,’ ” said May. “I said no, it’s not a gun it’s a prop for my monkey.”

“She said if I held it up to your neck, you wouldn’t know if it was real or not, and I said, 'Really?’ ”
The "gun" is roughly the size of three quarters placed end-to-end. The TSA agent took Rooster's gun and told May that she was supposed to contact the police. May asked the agent if she was kidding, and the agent assured her that she wasn't.

According to King5.com, the agent did not alert the police. May did get the rest of her sewing supplies back. No word on what happened to Rooster's gun, but May was able to see the humor in the situation.

“Rooster Monkburn has been disarmed so I’m sure everyone on the plane was safe,” she said. “I understand she was doing her job but at some point doesn’t common sense prevail?”
When everyone has a gun...

When everyone has a gun.....robbing is no longer <s>fun</s> profitable all the time...

Man in Wheelchair Shoots Two Men Robbing him.

Two men entered an Alcoa, TN jewelry store. One of the men jumped the counter and began stealing money from a back room.
As the suspect came back to the front of the store, the owner, who is confined to a wheelchair, shot the suspect in the stomach.
Police responded immediately and were able to apprehend both suspects at the scene.
According to WBIR, the way this played out isn’t a surprise for local police,
“Everybody has a gun permit nowadays,” [Detective] Sanders said. “So, I don’t think it’s safe to assume you’re going to go into a business where there’s not a weapon.”
The store owner was not harmed during the incident and the suspect who was shot is described as being in stable condition at an area hospital.

Story here : http://sellingthesecondamendment.com/wheel...ts-two-robbers/

And some funny comments :

"love to hear success story's like this one, to bad you never see them in mainstream media..just on local stations."

"Would like to see a civil suit on this one. (Yes your Honor we robbed the guy in the wheel chair but he did not have the right to shoot me.)"

"That's why I always say "an armed society is a polite society." I always treat people like they have a gun, maybe that's why we're so polite in the South, we don't want to get shot.
Pay dirt! Oklahoma teen finds jellybean-sized

Erik Ortiz
October 22, 2013

Tana Clymer, 14, was visiting Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Ark., on Saturday when she found the glittering rock. Its appraisal value wasn’t immediately known, but could be worth around $50,000 to $60,000.

The 3.85-carat canary diamond discovered by Tana Clymer, 14, of Oklahoma City, on Saturday.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend — especially if you’re a sharp-eyed 14-year-old.

Oklahoma teen Tana Clymer made a stunning discovery Saturday when she came across a 3.85-carat canary diamond while touring Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park.

The park lives up to its name and is home to more than 75,000 of the sought-after sparklers.

Clymer was with her family and didn’t think much of the rock — with its distinct yellow color — when she spied it in the dirt.

“I thought it was a piece of paper or foil from a candy wrapper,” she told park officials. “Then, when I touched it, I thought it was a marble.”

The Oklahoma City girl said she credits God for helping her find the diamond, which followed about two hours of sifting and searching through the park’s volcanic soil.

Tana Clymer, 14, of Oklahoma City, shows off the 3.85-carat canary diamond she discovered Saturday. The yellow diamond is teardrop-shaped and about the size of a jellybean.

“I was about to sprint to join my family, and God told me to slow down and look,” Clymer added. “Then, I found the diamond!”

The value of the jellybean-sized bling isn’t clear, although the family has stored the prized piece in a safety deposit box.

Park officials say it could be worth tens of thousands of dollars if it’s legit.

The sparkly souvenir that Clymer found is similar to a 4.21-carat rock discovered in 2006. That one was appraised for about $50,000 to $60,000, said Bill Henderson, assistant park superintendent.

“It appears to be of the same quality,” Henderson told the Daily News on Tuesday. “This particular yellow canary will knock your eyes out. The color is so brilliant.”

Tana Clymer’s teardrop-shaped yellow diamond was discovered Saturday. Initially, the 14-year-old thought it was a marble.

He added that Clymer had tears in her eyes when they told her the diamond’s potential value. She said she may turn the diamond into a ring or use it to help pay for college.

Nearly 400 diamonds have been dug up at the 37-acre Arkansas state park this year.

The last high-profile find was in July, when a 12-year-old North Carolina boy plucked a 5.16-carat rock he nicknamed “God’s Glory Diamond.”

Henderson said the “finders, keepers” policy at the park is a big draw for visitors.

“Everyone’s hoping to hit pay dirt,” he added.

Read more : http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/o...6#ixzz2igLVkcSb

I can't wrap my head around this story. Did they forget what it's like to be a kid??

An 8 year-old Arizona student is thrown out of school because of his artwork, and his parents are outraged over the move.
The artwork shows a soldier and a zombie. It’s part of a journal entry titled, “Escaping a Killer Zombie,” and it goes on to read, in part: “I’d open the window…but stand back quickly… booby-trapped…shoot the gadget… a rope gun…I’d swing across without getting hit.”
The headmaster of Scottsdale Country Day School says the school’s handbook clearly explains that any drawings that depict weapons are grounds for expulsion.
The 8 year-old boy’s parents are now pulling their son from school, and say the inspiration for his so-called violent drawing came from his Halloween costume

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Full story : http://fox43.com/2013/11/04/az-boy-expelle.../#ixzz2joJceTo1

John M. Solecki.

The man noticed that the suspects were armed and wearing masks, so he decided to wait outside the store, police said. The second suspect, dressed in all black and still wearing a mask, ran about 20 feet south on Moss Street before collapsing in the street.

Carmella Chipperfield, who lives nearby, said robberies are common at the store and she sympathizes with the store's owner.

"That poor man," she said, referring to the owner. "He's very nice and he gets robbed a lot.
Police: Examples Of Troubling ‘Knockout’ Game Popping Up All Over

Vie the clip here -> http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/11/19/pol...ng-up-all-over/

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A disturbing and brutal game among teens is also targeting other victims in other cities.

Just last week, CBS 2’s John Slattery reported on a disturbing series of attack on Jews in Brooklyn. Now we’re find out New York City is not alone.

Back in September, 46-year-old Ralph Santiago of Hoboken, N.J., was killed after his head was slammed into an iron fence. The three arrested, who police said were captured on video, were just 13 and 14 years old.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

And in the latest incident in Midwood, the victim’s daughter said her mother was attacked in broad daylight by a young man who walked toward her, balled up his fist and hit her with all his might on the top of her head then ran off.

The woman told CBS 2’s Dave Carlin her mother was loaded down with department store bags and a handbag, but there was no attempt to take anything; just to do harm.

“She had her purse, she had bags from department stores. There was not even an attempt to take anything from her. It was just a wanton act to hurt another human being,” the victim’s daughter said.

She said her mother did not go to the hospital and did not report it to police because she thought it was an isolated case, and she didn’t get a good look at the man’s face.

The woman was amazed that anyone could perpetrate such a violent act.

“How would you feel if this was happening to you or a member of your family?” she said, “If you don’t like it to happen to you or a member of your family, don’t do it to someone else.”

What’s happened of late in Brooklyn is just a variation on a theme. Since October, there have been four attacks in Crown Heights.

“It’s ‘knockout,’ and it happens to be a Jew in each and every case,” State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said.

He expressed shock at the latest incident in Midwood.

“People think it’s a fun thing to attack somebody – in this case, a person who’s 78 years old,” Hikind told 1010 WINS’ Al Jones.

In the recent attacks in Brooklyn, a 20-year old Israeli man in a hooded jacket was attacked, and another man’s 12-year-old son was hit on his way to Hebrew school.

play
78-Year-Old Woman Is Latest Victim Of 'Knockout Game' Attack1010 WINS' Al Jones reports.
00:00
At a community meeting between blacks and Jews in Crown Heights, an assistant police chief said there have been four such assaults since early October. So, more police have been deployed. Many present said young African-Americans need to be educated about such bias crimes.

“We need to engage these young people and engage their parents,” said the Rev. Taharka Robinson of the Brooklyn Anti-Violence Coalition.

Assemblyman Hikind said that’s fine, but he wants more.

“I’m for people being arrested. That would be the best education in the world,” Hikind said.

Hikind urged the NYPD to catch those responsible quickly and show the “knockout game” is not a game at all.

Many are calling “knockout” another example of peer pressure and showing off, with tragic and sometimes fatal results.

Sumpah tak kesah if serowpoke...

88-Year-Old Poor Chinese Woman

SOS : http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/30/l..._n_1719831.html

A Chinese woman who has spent her life in poverty is being hailed a hero for selflessly saving dozens of abandoned babies over the course of her lifetime.

According to Chinese newspaper Yanzhao Metro Daily, 88-year-old Lou Xiaoying has rescued more than 30 abandoned babies from the streets of Jinhua, China, over the past four decades.

Together with her late husband, who died 17 years ago, Lou personally raised four of the orphaned children, while others were taken in by Lou's family and friends.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Now suffering from heart and kidney failure, Lou -- who scavenged recyclables from trash cans for a living -- is finally being recognized for her years of quiet service, with many in her community stepping forward to lend a hand in her final days.

"The whole thing started when I found the first baby, a little girl back in 1972 when I was out collecting rubbish. She was just lying amongst the junk on the street, abandoned. She would have died had we not rescued her and taken her in," Lou said, according to the Daily Mail.

"Watching her grow and become stronger gave us such happiness and I realized I had a real love of caring for children. I realized if we had strength enough to collect garbage how could we not recycle something as important as human lives," she continued.

Lou, who has one biological daughter, single-handedly adopted her sixth child -- a little boy she had found in a dumpster -- at the age of 82.

"Even though I was already getting old I could not simply ignore the baby and leave him to die in the trash. He looked so sweet and so needy. I had to take him home with me," she said of her adopted son, 7-year-old Qiling.

One of Lou's adopted daughters, 33-year-old Zhang Juju, said that despite her mother's extreme poverty, she always tried to provide the best life possible for the children she rescued.

"[Even if her old age] there was no stopping her from going out," Zhang told Chinese news website 19lou.com, adding that her mother had gone out three or four times daily to collect trash for money, even as she started to get sick.

According to the Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua, Lou is still thinking of her beloved children even after becoming so ill that she has almost lost the ability to speak and move.

"I don't have many days left [but] what I want to see most of all is for…[7-year-old Qiling] to go to school. That way, even after I am gone, there will be no regrets left in my life," she told Xinhua from her hospital bed.

Though Lou could not afford to send her eldest three children to school, she managed to put Zhang and another 33-year-old daughter through junior high school.

As Lou's story of heroism and love makes headlines in China, people in Lou's community have stepped forward to support and further her life's mission.

An online fundraising effort has been started to help offset the woman's hospital bills, and an elementary school in Lou's hometown has offered to take young Qiling in at subsidized rates.

"This is the last wish of [Lou] and we must help her achieve it," Jinhua City Primary School's principal Zhang Fangxiao, who said he was extremely moved by Lou's story, told 19lou.com.

Bloated bodies everywhere.

As per latest update Bloated bodies everywhere. Survivors scrounging for food.

I have a colleague from Phillipines. He’s here for past few months now and recently seemed rather distraught. And worst this morning.

Found out that’s because the small town his wifu and 2kids and parents staying there has been wiped out..as in gone. Like the link above…

He’s unable to get in touch with anyone from his family or siblings as of now.

He’s planning to go back to Phillipines this weekend…but some advice him not to do so yet because there’s no food/water there at the moment and transport is totally out. So even if he’s to landed in the airport, he will mostly be stranded on the airport or can only walk to his town, which is very far from the airport.

But then again, I don’t think he can tahan so long until help or rescue effort reaches his town then only go back there.

Which is why I am not one of those asking him to stay put 1st….

Question is, what can I do to help? And fyi…he’s pretty rich so money might not be his concern or something that could help him out greatly.
Zombie Apocalypse or Doomsday Preppers

How many of you are ready or a believer?

Added : Latest Zombie Apocalypse scenario.. Typhoon Survivors Hunt For Food 'Like Zombies'

And finally, if i may add, Zombie Apocalypse might not directly and solely meant for situation where the dead starts walking..but rather, on disaster that would invoke such survival preparation; here's further explaination.

QUOTE

Zombie Squad is a 501©(3) non-profit [1] community service and disaster preparedness organization that uses the metaphor of a "Zombie Apocalypse" for any natural or man-made disaster (hurricane, terrorism, earthquake, etc.).

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Zombie Squad was created in St. Louis, Missouri in the summer of 2003. After watching the British horror movie 28 Days Later, a group of friends began discussing how they would prepare for a zombie epidemic, and how they would have handled the challenges faced by the characters in the film. This was the initial inspiration for Zombie Squad.[3]
The stated goal of the organization is to present disaster preparedness in a manner which allows for serious exploration of multiple worst-case scenarios, while still maintaining a sense of humor and remaining grounded in non-disaster life. Zombie Squad combines a large online presence via its forums with community service and charity event participation to spread its message.
Zombie Squad has members all over North America and members in countries all over the world, including the United States, Canada, UK and South America among others.[4]

The basic concept behind Zombie Squad is that zombies are a useful metaphor for a worst-case scenario: if someone is prepared to survive the complete breakdown of society due to an uprising of the living dead, then he or she will be prepared for almost any real-world disaster or emergency conceivable. The zombie metaphor was chosen for humor, originality, and as a bait and switch for horror movie fans, science fiction fans, gamers and others who otherwise may not be drawn to the idea of disaster preparedness or community involvement.[6]

One of the first major events that Zombie Squad participated in was the Archon convention in 2004. They hosted a seminar that dealt with basic disaster preparation under the guise of how to "survive a zombie apocalypse" which included the creation and use of a bug-out bag (or BOB), which they have continued to host annually at the convention.
Since its inception in 2003, Zombie Squad has organized charity events for organizations such as Meals on Wheels, American Red Cross,[8] Youth In Need, Feed My People, Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean County, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Project S.H.A.R.E. and they have held a fund raiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and the May 2007 tornado outbreak.[9][10]
They have participated in several flash mob-like events known as Zombie Walks to raise awareness for blood drives for the American Red Cross and local food banks. Their contributions charity organizations have also included zombie movie nights, trivia nights, Hot Wheels car races, food collection, and holiday parties.[11]

Guys I need some advice..lots of advice actually.

I have been together with my gf for past 3.5 yrs. Everything is OK and good.

The only problem is her 2nd younger sister.

Her 2nd younger sister is quite tempting and I am often attracted to her, my eyes I mean. And couple months back, I secretly took a photo of her in a quite seductive position. I have been fapping to the pic and recently, I felt I should stop before something really bad happen. We are quite close coz I go to their house quite frequent so to stop going will be quite difficult. What can I do to avoid my wild imagination about her before my gf find out.

And yes, I have deleted the photo as I foresee it’s gonna be a matter of time before my gf find out if I continue keeping it.

What can/should I do?
Two were found dead near a river.

At the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, operators pumped out rain water from around storage tanks holding contaminated water.

In Tokyo, flights were cancelled, bullet train services suspended and schools closed.

"It is the strongest typhoon in 10 years to pass the Kanto [Tokyo area] region," Hiroyuki Uchida, the Japan Meteorological Agency's chief forecaster, told journalists on Tuesday.

'Crackling sound'
The storm brought strong winds and record rainfall - 122mm (4.8 inches) in one hour on Wednesday morning - to Izu Oshima island, which lies some 120km (75 miles) south of Tokyo.

Officials on the island said that 13 bodies had found and more than 50 people were unaccounted for.

"We have no idea how bad the extent of damage could be," town official Hinani Uematsu said.

Local media described mud and debris strewn around houses.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

"I heard a crackling sound and then the trees on the hillside all fell over," a woman on the island told national broadcaster NHK television. "Then mud slid as far as the house."

Rescuers were struggling to access many areas, local reports said.

"City hall and fire station officials are doing rescue work in places accessible," a local official told AFP news agency.

In Tokyo, a woman died after falling in a river and a search was under way for two young boys last seen on a beach, reports said.

Around 400 domestic and international flights were also cancelled in the capital, Kyodo news agency said.

Nearly 20,000 people were ordered to evacuate and thousands of schools shut as a result of the typhoon, Reuters news agency reported.

Typhoon Wipha was expected to move north-east and weaken over the course of the day.

Around midday it passed close to the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, where contaminated water used to cool reactor cores is being stored in temporary tanks.

Plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Company said on Tuesday that it had made "preparations for proper management of contaminated water" and would "patrol places that could have inflows of water [from the storm]".

Izu Oshima, a volcanic island popular with tourists, has more than 8,000 residents.

Malaysia’s got talent...

Topping the list is Switzerland, followed by Finland, Singapore, the Netherlands and Sweden. Asean countries in the list include Thailand which is placed at number 44, Indonesia (53) and the Philippines (66).

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The report notes that Putrajaya's affirmative action policies as well as cheap migrant labour have kept Malaysia from achieving a skilled workforce to compete with its smaller and richer neighbour, Singapore.

The presence of foreign workers, mainly from Indonesia and Bangladesh, has left business owners with little incentive to increase wages or upgrade operations to boost productivity, according to the report.

Recruitment consulting firm Kelly Services has revealed recently that 20% of Malaysia's highly educated population now opted to leave the country for richer economies, frustrated by the lack of opportunities at home.

Many have settled in neighbouring Singapore. The Wall Street Journal in a recent article noted that the exodus of local talent means that Malaysia faces a shortage of skilled professionals, including bankers, researchers and engineers.

Economists say Malaysia's economic potential has been stifled by affirmative action policies which favour Bumiputeras. Critics say the policies, introduced in the 1970s to eliminate poverty and close wealth gap between Malays and other communities, have only enriched a handful of individuals close to the ruling coalition.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has vowed to dismantle the policies, promising economic reforms under the New Economic Model. But his recent announcement of the RM20 billion Bumiputera Economic Empowerment Programme has riled up critics who said he was backtracking on his pledge.

WEF founder Klaus Schwab, in launching the latest report, said developing of skills and talent is the key for a country's future.

Kelly Services has on the other hand revealed that 60% of foreign immigrants in Malaysia only had primary school education or less. Malaysian universities have recently slipped in global rankings. None of them made it in the top 400 universities in the 2013-14 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. - October 10, 2013.
