blackberry water damage problem

Basically, I touched the trackball when my hand was wet.. Then buttons start going haywire.. Then I let it dry and my buttons work normally.. Some of them only.. I'm currently using my bb for this so everything is good, the only problem I'm having is, is that the left alt button has gone retarded. E.g if I wanted to use it, pressing once may not work, the 'alt' on the right hand side blinks.. So I know the button is working.. Its just retarded, it thinks that I'm pressing it twice..

K that's the 1st problem.. The 2nd problem, I cannot press 'alt + enter' to bring up the language menu..

3rd problem, when I'm using my cam, it auto zoom in.. Making it hard to zoom back.. Zoom back to x1 then auto fly to x3.. So that's retarded..

I tried disecting the bb.. As mentioned by google, and clean the stuff inside, whether its buttons and trackball.. Doesn't work.. The only thing that work is m trackball clicked.. Coz previously, my trackball cannot click when water damaged.. I don't know whether if I didn't fix the trackball right, by putting it upside down having these side effects, but now, the alt button is pissing me off..

I tried emailing raymond, but you guys aid he went to Jakarta.. is thre any peopl that can check out my bb and fix it? I really want this button fixed and be back to how it was originally..

One / Two Days Trip

Having said, this thread is created to serve the purpose of one - two days trip. Any information contributed to this thread will be posted up at the 1st post. This is to give the forumers an easy access instead of reading through pages and pages worth of stuff.

Previous thread regarding one day trips is here.

This is written based on a person being in KL. So driving distance may vary to those staying outside of KL. But, also do give some suggestion as well even though you are not from KL.

For those places that I have been to, I of course will give reviews, any one wanna input their reviews about the place and suggestion of food, please do =). After all this thread is for information purpose.

*Note that these are arranged in the order of which one pops up to my head first. Will rearrange them later.

1. Port Dickson
Lowyat Forum, Port Dickson Thread
When I went there with a bunch of friends, it was during maybe 5pm we arrive there. The rest arrived earlier. Basically what they did was, they brought those portable BBQ. Drove it all the way there and have BBQ at the beach.
They searched for a place where there are restrooms that is just by the beach so that it is easier if you are gathering water to wash stuff.

Basically brought like 3-4 Myvi's worth of stuff. BBQ rig, beer, loads of drinking water, loads of food. Some dry wood.

Sat there till 10 pm with a fire pit.

After that, please note that you MUST clean up all the stuff you ate and clear the fire pit. Environment friendly la.

Driving time from KL, 2 hours before we found the beach where they were at. Got lost a few times.

2. Melaka
Lowyat Forum, Melaka Thread
I went there to COD some stuff and then walked around Jonker street.

Basically Melaka is good to visit because they do preserve the buildings well. A very architechtural visit. After exploring the town (you cant get lost there, its quite a small town), head down to Jonker Street to walk around and do some shopping. If you like, you can head down to Mahkota Parade, where its near the pier, Eye of Malaysia is there. If you are like me, then yould enjoy the view when its night time.

3. Zoo Negara
(coming soon)

4. Bukit Tinggi - Colmar Tropicale and Japanese Garden
Lowyat Forums, Bukit Tinggi
That forum, abit outdated adi. Let me do a brief update here.

Japanese Garden: RM 30 for rental of the Japanese costume, they have the samurai and the kimono. 30 mins for you to run around with the costume and go wild.

Directions to go there from KL: Take MRR2, head for Genting, (pass by RM5 toll). Once you see the exit to Genting Highlands, go straight you will see the Karak highway tunnel. Keep going until you see "Berjaya hills". Turn in and drive all the way up.

The environment is cooling. It is not as cold as Genting Highlands, but its cool enough. Entrance is RM 10 per person. Depending on what you wanna see first, but i do think that you need to see the Japanese garden first as the forest can be pretty dark later on. There is a botanical garden to go to if you want, at no cost. Just walk in.
Note: bring water unless u wanna pay RM4 for a bottle of water or RM4.50 for a 100plus or coke.

If u decided to go to Colmar Tropicale first, park your car there and explore, u dont have to drive to the Japanese garden, there is a shuttle bus that you can take at Colmar -> Japanese garden and back.

Overall, it is a very refreshing place to go to, fresh air and very cooling.
how many hours you spend there depending on you la. I arrived there at around 12pm, played at the Japanese garden adn teh botanical gardens till 330. Drove to colmar and had a "snack lunch" and walked around and left the place by 5something

5. Sepang Gold Coast
(coming soon)

6. Ulu Yam Waterfall
(coming soon )

7. Kuala Selangor (Fireflies) (Night)
Lowyat Forum, Fireflies Thread
Basically, we went there after work, keep driving towards Kuala Selangor, and after a bridge, youll see a restaurant at the bay. This restaurant is actually very publicized. But the food so so only. If you dont mind, then can stop there for dinner, after dinner, ask them where the fire flies resort is nearby, and theyll lead you there. Very good directions from them. Basically once you reach the firefly resort, its already dark. Perfect for firefly visit. Boat ride is RM10-RM15 per person I think. If you dont have mosquito repellent, you can purchase it there.

*There are other restaurants deeper into the Kuala Selangor, I have a friend who lives there and she said the food that i mentioned earlier is overrated. But, your choice la =).

8. Ipoh
Lowyat Forum, Ipoh Thread
For Ipoh, food is a must, especially their chicken rice. Below are a list of foods located around Ipoh :-

- Ming Court Dim Sum N4 35.828 E101 05.169
- Yong Fook Mun dim sum N4 35.809 E101 05.184
- Foo Shan (So-so only) -
- Cowan street Ga choi Kai -N4 35.858 E101 05.155
- Lou Wong Ga choi Kai N4 35.640 E101 05.053
- Choy On Yong Wanton mee - N4 33.945 E101 02.740
- Hong Kong roast duck N4 36.150 E101 06.595

*If you got more food places, do let me know =)

After fooding in Ipoh, you could also visit Gua Tempurong or the Hot Springs. Info located below.

D-Tourist has provided us a link of a rough itinerary on Ipoh, link here.

9. Gua Tempurung

This can be done for a one day trip or a two day trip. Since Gua Tempurong is near Ipoh, you could have some dimsum before you head for caving. After the caving, if its too exhausting, you could stay a night.

10. Sungai Klah Hot Springs Park (around 30 - 45 mins from Gua Tempurong)

11. Fraser's Hill
(coming soon)

12. Chilling Waterfall (at the foot of Fraser hill)
Lowyat Forums, How to go to Chilling Falls
Chiling falls is darn good. I've been there twice. The waterfall is well worth the hike in. Other than hiking you can actually camp there as well.
The first time I went there I camped a night there. Second time went on a day's trip and hiked to the waterfall. The waterfall is magnificent.
It's like the waterfalls you see in movies; mind you WATERFALL not rapids. - Lowyat Forumer: nick_myself

13. Cameron Highlands
Lowyat Forum, Cameron Highlands

Its either you could go there really early and enjoy the drive up and come back down in the evening, but I wouldnt advise that. Its better if you stay a night there.
There are alot of websites regarding Cameron Highlands. Try googling it first.

Its a must to visit the Boh Tea Plantation. Because the view is so nice and relaxing. Take note that there are 2 Boh Tea plantations, I cant remember which is the one with the nice view, but try asking the locals which is the bigger plantation.

14. Port Klang
People go there for food. Below are the locations for some of the food recommended by fellow lyners.

- Port village N3 00.176 E101 22.554
- Bagan Seafood -N3 00.420 E101 23.197
- Muara ikan Bakar (Malay cooking) - N3 00.690 E101 21.606
- Baby Seafood (Thai style) - N3 04.233 E101 26.483
- Chiem Choo seafood: N3 04.230 E101 26.319
- Hou Moon N3 03.108 E101 26.621

15. Pulau Ketam
" Pulau Ketam, literally translated, means "crab island". It is a small island located off the coast of Klang. The island is easily accessible from the Port Klang jetty by ferry. The "floating houses" that come to view as visitors approach the island is a sight to awe any city slickers. Perching casually on long wooden stilts, these dwellings are suspended about one to ten (1-10) metre above sea level.

Pulau Ketam is the best opportunity for visitors to witness and experience the unique lifestyle of fishermen. Homestay facilities are readily available. And, Pulau Ketam also having a very special viewpoint with town city where this island escape from air polutions, traffic jams, finding car parking problem etc.

Seafood is a natural wonder of this isle, and Pulau Ketam is renowned for fresh crabs, prawns and fish. It is indeed a seafood gourmet's paradise!"

16. Genting Highlands
Lowyat Forums, Genting Forum
There are activities such as the Outdoor and Indoor Theme Park, Casino and shops around First World.

At times when I just needed air, and didnt want the smoky air in the casino, i would go to Coffee Bean at Highlands hotel and sit outside and freeze to death. But its nicer at night. Cooler air. There are spectacular city views if you walk and explore around. One area i like to hang around is behind the Outdoor Theme Park Entrance, there is a small area where there are sheltered seats. So far, thats the only place I found with nice view.

17. Cherating (Kuantan)
Cherating beach is a nice place to go to. Most likely, you have to stay a night because driving there takes 3 hours or more. Depending on the traffic. During the monsoon seasons, people usually go there for surfing because the waves are bigger.
But for me, I went there during the monsoon seasons and the non monsoon seasons, i personally prefer the non monsoon seasons. The water is clearer for one thing, and its nice to sit at the beach or do some tanning. Some people would go there for flying kites. I went there during some holiday and they have like a pasar thing there, lets u purchase kites and come clothes and some souvenirs.

If you really fancy horse riding, there is a place where u can rent a horse to go running around. But very pricey. I think its RM 60 for 2 hours or more. Cant remember. But If you are really pretty, or you have a pretty friend, call your friend to talk to the guys there. One of my friend actually talked to the guys until they let us ride the horses for free around their area. We call it test driving the horses..

18. Batu Caves
If you live in KL, doesnt mean that you know all about KL. I have been in PJ for 6 years and never once I stepped foot in Batu Caves. I have friends that went there, and from them describing to me, the climb of the steps are tiring, but its worth it when you reach the top.

19. Broga Hill
What to bring to Broga Hill
Information about the hike up

both this info can be found here

"im planning to make a trip there this weekend, i will update this post with my interesting stories =)"

Alright, 19 places. Any one care to suggest anymore? Im waiting on the Kota Kemuning info ^^

devil's Workout Journal

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

After some thought i realize that Im hitting 20 and freakingly overweight. So i decided to hit the fitness section of lowyat forums just to get me some "omph" into fitting a better and healthier lifestyle.

So my stats goes
Height = 175cm
Weight = 80kg

Consumption of food
Crazy fattening meals that include Mc'd, Bak kut teh and so on. THIS HAS TO STOP!

Target
Losing portion by portion of weight the healthy way.

So i have read a few topics around the forums and seen how water weight and the unhealthy way of losing weight goes. So im gonna start off slow as im a smoker and drinker.. = no breath to do anything.

Here is my planned routine starting from September

Breakfast
Wholemeal bread and 2 halfboiled eggs (if got time to prepare the eggs la if not it would be just the bread) and possibly some fruits

Lunch
Half a serving of rice, vege and lean meat

Dinner
Half serving of rice, what ever unfat meat i can find

Supper
<s>FRUITS! Any form of fruits except bananas. Banana at night seems fattening, so ill stick to apples and oranges and watermelons</s>
Air

Workout routine
Since i dont wanna kill myself and i dont mind lyn forumers to join me. Jogging a few rounds at bkt kiara park. Right after work. Provided if i do not work late.

Duration = 30 mins - 60 mins

This routine will stay with me until i can pick up my breath and run at a more steady pace.

After jogging and running, will head to swim for 30 - 45 mins if my lungs can tahan that long.

Goal by the end of the month
Lets try losing 2 kg's 1st =) if it goes more then let it go more!!

Ultimate goal
weight = 65-70kg's

For a female that weight and that height.. should be ok guaaaa..

I do have other goals one. But lets just keep it simple and step by step. Shed some weight first, then i work on my abs next. I find it that i can keep my self motivated if i keep my goals realistic and step by step.

Any one wanna have a round of jogging after work? =)

Edit:

Super Phailed.

So i have decided to RE-OPEN back my thread of this work out journal. oh my god! it has been a year, and i look the same. + abit more fatness LOL.. Thanks to whoopsydaisy for her first step in motivating me. I have signed up for bootcamp!. Ultimate goal would be the same 65-70, it is a dream, but heck im trying to make it real!..

For the first day of bootcamp, i think that im loving it.. I paid to have people yell at my ear to get me to move. To me i think its better than fitness first, cause one thing, i have a habit of slacking off. With these military hunky guys yelling at you, and the bootcamp buddies nudging you to keep going, i think i have found my new comfort zone. These peope inspire me to move along and keep going at it. its a motivation thing i need. Maybe after i get used to it, then i can actually do it on my own.. Now, im thankful thaat i got the bootcamp people to push me along.

1st day, maybe they are like that, 2nd day i think they'll kick me if i dont move! lol

i think i did good for my first day. My face was white like a ghost, my friend said my lips was purple, i wanted to throw up a few times, i cant walk straight after that, i wanted to crawl to my car, i wanted to lie down on the grass for one or 2 hour and not move AT ALL..

yea its tough, i loved it.. i think i could have died in the field today. my heaart was actually pumping faster than usual. It has never work that hard in 4-5 years.. I actually like the fact that my lungs are actually getting fresh air, i feel like i cleansed my lungs as it is the first time that it worked that hard as well.. what more with the nicotine layer stuck to it.. I need to quit smoking..

Overall, im gonna take it nice and easy. Excercise routine, tues, thurs, and sat at padang Astaka. Id increase the excercise routines later when im more used to it. for now, these sessions at Padang Astaka is a must, i dont wanna waste my RM300 =P and also, i came to bootcamp for a reason. I need an excercise routine to be healthy. Im out! untill i got stuff to complain about the bootcamp =P

UPDATES!!

1 month has passed after joining boot camp.. SHH!!TT.. i feel the burn throughout my body.. my tshirts seemed tighter, my pants seemed tighter.. Sarge said its cause my muscle is building.. itll start to lose fats later.. OMG.. bulky... ishhhh

Noob in ICE just some Q's.

Hi guys, I been surfing lowyat forums for some time, then now i feel like having ICE in car.

I drive a camry 2004, not new not old. And was thinking of having a budget system. (wat to do, new to it dont wanna spend so much)

What i want to ask is, 2x 10" woofer can blast the music boh?? i listen to trance more so i like the BOOM BOOM BOOM. I saw some thread and was thinking of buying the woofer for cheap, as its 200 for 2x 10" with enclosure. Link is here, can or not the price??

THEN, if i buy this woofer, by basic understanding of how ICE works, i need a 4 ch amp. Correct?? Is that it?? I dont want to buy component speakers as i already think a camry component speaker is quite "ohm" and it doesnt give me the "piak piak" sound. So say i want to skip the component speakers, i can straight get the woofer, then the 4ch amp then install, and kau tim already right??

But what i like is, some system, they can control the bass with a nub located somewhere near the drivers side. Where does this nub connects to? And what i need to install this nub, because sometimes, i like to listen to mild music so i like this extension of controlling the bass with the nub.

Any inputs for me to further understand this?? Help is appreciated =)
