On 18 April, HRH Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah attended a buka puasa ceremony at Istana Negara.

Among attendance were Members of Cabinet, dignitaries and heads of foreign delegations. But one person sitting at the high table along with HRH stood out from the crowd.

Advocate and solicitor, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, took to his Twitter account to pinpoint and condemn the fact that former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak was seated at the high table, alongside current Prime Minister, Dato Seri Ismail Sabri and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

He wrote, “High table. In front of honorary guests, Cabinet members, members of government bodies as well as the judiciary and the legislature. Istana Negara needs to answer as to why such treatment was given to PM6 (Najib).”

One of my family member tested positive. Currently self isolate in one room. She having mild symptoms like fever and cough.. No difficulty breath atm.

What else need to do now? Self reporting in mysejahtera that positive?

We have 3 person bought a house few years back and staying in the house and 3 of us is paying for the house loan until now. 1 person is going to quit (buy another property) and the other 2 person will going to continue with the house loan. So what can I do to have win-win situation for us?

I'm thinking what to do to best for 3 of us:
a) is refinancing and 2 person continue to pay the loan with the profit will spilt with 3 person.
b) sell off the house and spilt the profit? (afraid this wont works since market nowadays is very bad and guess no one will buy)

Please give some suggestion...

PETALING JAYA: The people must prepare to stay home longer with the prospect of phase four of the movement control order (MCO) looming, as the government prepares standard operating procedures (SOPs) to cater for Ramadan, say government sources.

Although there has yet to be an official announcement, the government’s preparation for a Ramadan under MCO signals the possibility of a phase four.

The MCO, which began on March 18, is now in its third phase which will end on April 28.

As the first three phases were in two-week stages, phase four is likely to be another two weeks.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to give a special Ramadan speech to the nation tonight to address the worries of Muslims fasting during the MCO.

Business sectors are already bracing for an extended MCO and are making arrangements to cushion the impact. Business owners say they intend to continue operating at below 50% of their capacity.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said the government was not only looking at allowing students who had been stuck at hostels in higher learning institutions due to the MCO to go back to their hometowns, but it was also discussing the possibility of allowing those who went back to their hometowns during the first few days of the MCO to return to the towns and cities.

“For the early stages, they can apply to the police through the online application Gerak Malaysia, a collaboration between the police and Communications and Multimedia Ministry, from April 25 onwards,” he said.

But he cautioned that the possibility of letting people come back to the cities from their hometowns would only be decided on once the authorities had the complete data.

Religious authorities, under the purview of Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Al-Bakri, are also formulating fatwa (a formal ruling on a point of Islamic law) to ensure that Muslims are not in doubt about fasting during the MCO.“The National Fatwa Council met on April 21 and we discussed issues that needed to be decided regarding fasting during MCO amid a pandemic.

“We decided that a swab test for Covid-19 does not invalidate a patient’s fast.

“We also discussed if frontliners could be exempted from fasting while on duty,” said Zulkifli in an interview, adding that all decisions were based on the advice of the Health Ministry.

He said frontliners who found it difficult to fast while on duty, be they medical or security personnel, had a right not to fast, but it must be replaced at another time.

“For Covid-19 patients on medication, he or she need not fast but must pay it back when he or she is well again.

“For suspected or positive cases where they do not have symptoms and do not have to take medication, including those being isolated at home or in quarantine stations, then if health permits, he or she should fast during Ramadan.

This was debated among the clerics in Al-Azhar University and doctors were consulted,” said Zulkifli.

Some government agencies such as the Federal Territory Islamic Affairs Department (Jawi) have also launched soup kitchens and food banks to assist underprivileged groups during Ramadan.

The latest is the RM2.16mil It’am Kitchen in selected mosques for pre-dawn and breaking of fast meals, which will then be delivered to deserving groups in accordance with the SOP of authorities, said Jawi.

The announcement by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof yesterday that most applications from construction companies to continue operations during the MCO had been rejected was yet another indication of a potential extension to the MCO.

“The government received 19,000 applications from companies in the construction industry to operate during the MCO. Of these, 1,856 were approved while 7,387 applications were not,” he said.

Fadillah added that smaller contractors could restart their work for house renovation, but they must apply for permission from the authorities.

KAPSYEN: Ahli Parlimen Padang Rengas, Nazri Aziz berkata, MCA juga bersetuju dengan kerjasama Umno dengan PAS kerana ia merupakan satu jalan untuk berjaya dalam PRU ke-15 akan datang.

KUALA LUMPUR: Mohamed Nazri Aziz berkata, MCA kekal dalam Barisan Nasional (BN) kerana mereka yakin Umno kuat, sama seperti keadaan yang berlaku semasa pilihan raya umum ke-14 (PRU14) Mei tahun lepas.

Ahli Parlimen Padang Rengas itu berkata, sekiranya MCA tidak yakin dengan kekuatan Umno, ia tidak akan kekal dalam BN.

“Kita ada ahli Parlimen dan wakil rakyat yang kuat.

“Kalau tak, mereka patut lari jika mereka tidak yakin dengan Umno,” katanya ketika ditemui di Lobi Parlimen.

MCA semalam memutuskan untuk terus kekal bersama BN bagi memperkukuhkan kerjasama antara pelbagai kaum di negara ini.

Jawatankuasa Pusat MCA, dalam satu kenyataan berkata, keputusan itu dibuat bagi memastikan tidak berlakunya kecondongan politik berteraskan perkauman dalam landskap politik Malaysia.

Nazri berkata, MCA juga bersetuju dengan kerjasama Umno dengan PAS kerana ia merupakan satu jalan untuk berjaya dalam PRU ke-15 akan datang.

“Kita dapat lihat kerjasama Umno-PAS berjaya dalam 2 pilihan raya kecil sebelum ini.

“Kita akan pastikan kerjasama ini akan kekal sampai PRU ke-15. Sebagai ahli Umno saya berfikir tentang kelangsungan Umno,” katanya.

Sementara itu, ahli Parlimen Sembrong, Hisammuddin Tun Hussein berkata, beliau yakin MCA kekal dalam BN demi kepentingan masa depan gabungan politik itu.

Beliau berkata, amat penting untuk MCA dan Umno duduk bersama bagi membincangkan isu kebaikan bersama.

“Tidak mudah untuk tinggalkan BN, lebih-lebih lagi hubungan yang ada sekarang telah lama dijalin selama ini.

Hishamuddin berkata, Umno dan MCA perlu melihat kerjasama dalam BN dari kaca mata dan berdasarkan kaedah baru.

PETALING JAYA: Five years after her Chinese New Year video drew protest from Malay groups who accused her of insulting the country’s leaders, DAP’s Teresa Kok has released a new video in conjunction with the lunar new year next week.

This time, her CNY greeting comes against the backdrop of the oil palm industry, something close to her heart in her current duties as primary industries minister.

The clip, which also stars Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah, two government leaders with Chinese heritage, comes as her ministry is taking charge of Putrajaya’s counter-campaign to the global anti-palm oil lobby.

“We build from each other’s strength, and learn from each other’s shortcomings,” Kok spoke in Mandarin in the video, as Wan Azizah arrives in a lorry filled with oil palm.

“These are the seeds we have sown, the crops we have planted. The future we will reap on this journey together,” she said, as the three ladies demonstrate their calligraphy skills.

Putrajaya has launched the “Love MY Palm Oil” campaign, in response to Europe’s move to ban palm oil in biofuel beginning in 2021. The decision could affect millions of oil palm growers in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

In 2014, Kok’s “Onederful Malaysia” video landed her in trouble with the authorities, with a sedition charge brought against her.

The video allegedly poked fun at the then-Barisan Nasional government’s handling of issues such as the education system and the Sulu invasion of Lahad Datu in 2013. The case was subsequently dropped.

2 sultan support ex agong move

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad will meet the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on Thursday, Jan. 10.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the meeting comes amidst speculation that Johor’s Sultan is a potential successor to becoming the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong, also known as “King of Kings”.

It will be the first meeting between both parties since the 14th Malaysian general election in May 2018.

However, no details have been released yet about what the meeting will discuss.

Actions of the previous king supposedly stirred controversy
According to Today, the marriage of Sultan Muhammad V — the monarch of Kelantan state and the former Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, to Russian beauty queen Oksana Voevodina, had supposedly stirred some controversy.

The marriage had taken place in November 2018, when the ex-king was on two months of medical leave to recuperate after treatment.

The Malaysian Insight reported that “more than eyebrows” had been raised around the country, especially in the Sultan’s home state of Kelantan which is governed by the conservative Islamist party Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS).

More importantly, MI cited a courtier, from among the nine palaces of the Malay rulers, who claimed that the marriage was perceived as “the straw that broke the camel’s back” of the five other Malay rulers.

Only two rulers defended the ex-king — the sultans of Selangor and Johor.

More importanyl, MI added that news of the ex-king having lost the majority support of the sultans was conveyed to him directly on the night of Jan. 5, during a private dinner with the monarch of Perlis at the Shangri-La hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Sultan Muhammad V resigned from his position on Jan. 6, the following day.

So why is Mahathir meeting the Johor Sultan?
Malaysia’s constitutional monarchy is unique in that instead of being a hereditary system, the post of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is rotated among the nine hereditary Malay rulers, according to The Borneo Post.

However, the Malaysian constitution also stipulates that the succeeding king must be chosen by the sultans by way of election, with a majority of five votes, according to The Star.

FMT reported that next in line to succeed Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan is Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang, followed by the Sultan of Johor, then Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak, who is also filling in as King in the interim, given his position as Deputy Agong.

FMT added that it is unlikely the Sultan of Pahang will become king due to his ill health.

Moreover, while his son, the crown prince of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah, is carrying out the duties and functions of the Sultan in his stead, he is “unlikely to be appointed the king as he is not the state ruler yet”.

As for Johor’s Sultan, Today stated that should he fail to secure the votes of at least five sultans, he will be “sidelined”.

FMT noted that the Sultan of Johor “has been has been embroiled in several spats with Mahathir over the years”.

The powers of the King
According to The Malay Mail, the king has power in the following three areas:

The appointment of the prime minister;
Withholding consent to a request for dissolution of Parliament;
Requisitioning a meeting of the Conference of Rulers concerned solely with the privileges, position, honours or dignities of their Royal Highnesses, and any action at such a meeting.
Today quoted Ooi Kee Beng, executive director of think-tank Penang Institute, who stated that things could get “tricky” if the Sultan of Johor becomes the next King due to his family’s history of clashing with Mahathir.

The new Yang di-Pertuan Agong and his deputy will be elected on Jan. 24 and sworn in on Jan. 31.

Amway supplements

My wife is taking amway supplements for some years already. when she first start taking the supplements, it just a few tablets. Now she is taking alot tablets which in the morning can eat up to 9 tablets in the morning and 4 in the noon time everyday. Is this good for her health? her liver? She feedback that the her body works well with these supplements but i concern about her liver. Any amway consultant here or pharmacist can provide feedback on this?

she is taking cal mag d plus, double x, osteglucosamine and salmon omega complex. She is planning to take iron folic now..
