So another sad soul lost his marbles in typical Malaysian fashion: running amok like a dumb headless chicken at a wet market. Enraged with his mobile service provider, this fully grown ‘adult’ man decided to display his maturity by smashing the innocent windows of a DIGI store with his golf club like an uncivilized caveman whose vocabulary consists of only grunts and groans.
After the incident that was caught by CCTV, the Sibu resident and pub worker went on to another DIGI outlet on Jalan Keranji and continued to present his childish stupidity to the world by assaulting more harmless windows.
According to some reports, the man is pissed because of bad internet and lousy customer service. Other reports have outlined that it’s due to his telephone credit being deducted RM4 a day.
Well I don’t give a shit about what silly, simple troubles he has has with his phone and service provider – whatever it could possibly be, it can never excuse his idiotic behavior.
Do any of his problems with DIGI sound like good enough reason to resort to violence, wreak havoc and smash private property like a 3 year old toddler? Now the worst part about this story is that there are actual Malaysians that would answer yes to this question.

Look, I know all about shitty service. And Malaysia has miles to go in terms of treating customers with the care and respect they deserve. But this is not how a Malaysian should act.This is now how a human being act. This is animalistic behavior that should be discarded once you reach adulthood – but apparently this guy didn’t get to that point in his life. I guess he hasn’t reached adulthood. I suppose beneath his adult exterior lies a child who can’t seem to come to grips with his emotions.
Whatever his situation is, what he did is absolutely unacceptable. And the fact that some Malaysians would even excuse this fool’s actions is frankly quite embarrassing.

Over what? Telephone services? You stupid ah? Seriously, where did you go to school?
Civil problems should be addressed in a civil manner - through rational verbal communication. We don’t do ourselves or our cause any favour by taking up arms and being destructive. That is the strategy of a person who lacks control and common sense.
But what does this say about Malaysia? Why are the people we call friends and family condoning such despicable and disgusting behaviour? Have we lost our senses? Are our sufferings as a nation so harsh that we have rendered ourselves voiceless and headless men and women with no other means of resolve other than violence and aggression?
Those are questions for another time, my friend. For now I leave you with a quote by Isaac Asimov to distill how I feel about this whole incident and those who think it’s ok: “Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.” Please don’t be another useless, headless Malaysian.
