Notebook do not detect IDE

would like to check with fellow forumers, have you all cross to this problem..

Notebook Acer aspire 5101. The notebook couldn't detect any IDE device intermittently. I need to keep on restart during POST. went to bios, IDE detected.

but some times, it can. im too confuced, since its happen intermitently. If anyone have any idea let me know..

do u think updating bios is a good idea? or hardware mobo failure?

i would like to enrol the lpi101 and 102. but curious where is the training centre. let see, i did self study, where should i register for the exam. i tried google. and no info, besides all are outdated info. even more. the www.lpi.org, webpage link is dead...

the reason, taking LPI, since its cheaper than RHCE, or RHCT

and it cannot be removed..

[WTA] Block mac addres in router

Im using this modem, and intend to block two mac address from accessing the internet. how should i do it.? i have been to network access managemet and filter, have add the mac address, but seems..its not working.

i have go through the user manual, no use. tried to Google no answer.

there is few option there, after mac address column, active: yes/no, ? interface?

if anyone have successfully block the mac address kindly im hoping a hand from u all...

btw, im using billion modem bipac 5112s, as modem router as well..

guys, i need ur help and advice. the mentioned modem, can be connected to pc by wireless connection only and able to access internet. but when i switch to LAN cable, the pc cannot connect to it. and no indication, saying that its connected. i already checked at network connection, but no connection also...

i tried to change the cable, same problem too...
i tried to plug to different pc/laptop same problem to...no connection.

but if wireless, i will be connected to internet.

i have notify that, all LED at LAN, is on. static. but no connection.

guys,

i just wanna ask, for those experience people here, im working as It technician at a stable company. so basically my task is OA, support, and pc, printers, and small network problem. thats. all.

i was doing Degree in some other field ( which not even related to IT) till i was drop out.

so, what should i do now? im thinking to get MCSE. or CCNA, but do this course will help me to move forward, even without deg or dip? i thinking doing degree as part timers too, but its taking anoher 4 years to complete.

guys, i really need ur words, which can help me, to decide my next step in my career and education.

i would like to know whats the different with sony ericsson, P990i, AP set and Original set? because i notice that, there is huge price diffrent with those sets. AP arround rm1.1k but original is arround rm1800 something. does this means, AP set have some deffects? or am i gonna take risk by buying AP set of p990i?
