Small job renovation contractor

Does anyone know of kitchen cabinet contractors that are willing to take on a small job? The problem that I am facing is that there appears to be leakage at one side of the sink which I wasn't aware of.

Throughout the years the water has seeped into the wooden cabinet wall below. So far I see only one side is affected and it is now very wet and slowly breaking. I approached one contractor and he quoted me 2-3k to replace the cabinet below the sink only. This feels a bit pricey to me. He said that have to remove the entire piece of counter top and they will have to do it carefully so as to not break it hence costlier. It doesn't really make sense to me how this affects the pricing as surely the workers will have to do their work carefully in the first place.

I am no longer able to contact the original cabinet contractor company hence looking for a couple more contractors to quote but many are not willing to take on "small" job.

EDITED to include location - Puchong area; and upload image.

Mortgage Balance Formula

Hi all, I did a general search on this topic but didn't see anything pops up. I want to find out how to calculate how many more years it will take for me to settle my home mortgage loan. I have dumped in some advance payment several years ago (in hopes that it will reduce the principal). I remember there was an increase in BLR a few years ago which of course increased my monthly payment but ever since then regardless any reduced BLR I have maintained that same monthly payment.

Does anyone know the formula to calculate this? I don't think that online calculator will help as most doesn't take into consideration additional payment or change in interest rate (at the least the ones that I have googled). If anyone knows of an online calculator that includes this, do share. Thanking you in advance.

I went to the bank once for help but the officer kept saying the loan tenure will end when I completed all my loan payment (duh!) and was reluctant to assist further.

Yellowish stains in wardrobe

Hi all, need to get some opinions. My wardrobe and kitchen cabinets are white in colour, MDF material. I noticed that the inside (and sometimes outside) tend to get yellowish spots. After wiping off, they will come back again much later. I throw in some moth balls from time to time in wardrobe and now I put in some silica gel too in some of the sections to absorb moisture.

Is there any other solution to counter this issue?

Balancing audio level for Astro channels

Hi all, does anyone know how to set up the sound for Astro channels so that they all have the same audio level? This was never an issue before but for the past few months I face the problem that some channels are loud and some are extremely soft. My tv is connected to soundbar. It's really irritating when I'm surfing the channels. I've played around the sound setting in Astro to no avail. Anyone can help?

Can anyone tell me where to report spam messages? My family member keeps getting text messages in my name from a property agent asking if my unit is for rent. I don't know how he managed to get my family member's number as they don't stay with me. I know can block but I want such people to be reported.

Small size guitar

Hi all, I think I've come across similar post in the past but cannot find back. Hope admin doesn't mind I post again.

I signed up for acoustic guitar lessons abt 2 years ago. After 6 mths, I started experiencing frozen shoulder pain and stopped playing guitar to heal my shoulder. It also caused me to stop any physical exercises involving arms. I think it's due to the guitar being too big for me as I'm quite small body size with short fingers. I was using beginner Yamaha F310 guitar. My shoulder isn't 100% healed but I don't experience pain like before. I tried practicing my guitar a couple of times last year but started experiencing shoulder fatigue barely 5-mins into practicing. As such, I stopped completely. Today I tried again and same happened.

I am still keen to learn to play and am thinking to get a 3/4 size guitar instead or maybe parlor guitar...not sure which is more recommended. I don't want to get one that is too expensive as I am not sure if I have the discipline to stick to learning but at the same time I want to get a decent one that can motivate me to learn.

Can you guys give me some suggestions on a few recommended brands? My budget is around RM500-800..is this reasonable? I googled a few but want to narrow down to at least 5 so that easier for me to decide. Need opinions from sifu based on your experience with guitar.

Balcony door handle

Does anyone know where to buy this type of balcony door handle? I have asked a couple of hardware stores, they dont carry this kind. My local condo technician initially quoted me RM148 to replace the handle and he said product price alone is RM130++. I'm a bit surprised that it's this expensive. Would like to check out whether the price quoted to me is accurate or the fler simply jack up. He replaced the same for another neighbour at 1/3 of the price quoted to me and when I questioned him, he gave all sorts of excuses. He then tells me he can do the job for me at RM100 which I still feel is high. Surely a door handle like this wouldnt cost more than RM50, yes?

Changing to Concert body guitar

Please excuse my noob inquiries. I am interested to upgrade my entry level beginner guitar to a Concert body guitar. I am not sure if all Concert body guitar is able to be plugged into amp but that is also one feature that I am interested in. Concert body because I want a guitar that is not so wide as my arm/shoulder tends to hurt.

I came to know that Cort L450 is a concert body guitar. Can anyone tell me what are some of the other brands equivalent to this model? I tried to google but I'm still confused. Does Baby Taylor falls into this category? I know it's classified as 3/4 Dreadnought but am not sure if dimension wise, it's considered same as Concert body type. Is the Cort and Baby Taylor able to be plugged into amplifier?

My budget is around 1k, willing to push it up to max 1200. I saw on Marketplace, someone advertised Baby Taylor at around my budget. But I want to explore other good brands too e.g. Takamine, Yamaha, etc.

Can you sifus give some advice?

I am interested to get involved in buying stocks and would like to get some assistance on how to go about. Previously I was eligible for ESOS at my old job and so I took up the units I was qualified for. I have since disposed the shares, making a small profit only. I never buy other shares since then. That was about 15 odd years ago.

Is my CDS account still considered valid or do I need to go open a new account if I want to invest again? Also, I have lost contact of the broker that I used to liaise with. Basically, I like to know how to go about getting back into the game. As a "newbie" what stocks would be consider good to start off with?

I am not really a risk taker but I figure I don't mind to spend a few thousands to invest. Kinda start small first and see how far it can take me before I invest bigger amount.

Guitar for travel

Hey, has anyone experience using those pocket guitar sold in Lazada and 11 Street? I am looking for a guitar tool that I can use for practice especially on chord changes when I go on business trips. I know the downside of such pocket tool is that there is no sound out of it. I don't want to lug around my regular sized guitar at the airport and those travel guitar doesn't look that small either. Must all musical instruments be checked in separately regardless of size?

I saw advert for Jamstix which looks cool but I think the price is almost as good if not more than getting a good branded guitar.

I also saw this travel guitar on [GOO]-&cc=[PPC][GOO]-&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&gclid=CjwKCAiA_ojVBRAlEiwAOLRxIzIh3Qf863ffacfk00d3uhz3qj1lrV9zpOGLNdX7--ruSS4S8hO0qBoC3tsQAvD_BwE]ezBuy. But everything in chinese so don't know whether it is using steel or nylon strings and what is the dimension but it does look small.

Any recommendation?

Basic chromatic exercise

I went for my first guitar lesson and I find that doing basic chromatic exercise is challenging My fingers are short and it is difficult to stretch but worse is that my 3 fingers tend to pop up when I am pressing one finger down on the string. As such I go very very slowly pressing one string at a time. I try to be conscious and keep them down but they won't stay down.

I watched a few Youtube videos on this and they seem to do the exercise so effortlessly. I read one article where one guy said he got bored when he was first taught chromatic exercise cos it was too easy for him.

If doing chromatic exercise is already difficult for me, do I have any hope to be able to play the guitar? I know practice makes perfect. I am trying to put in as much practice time as possible but seeing me going on one by one string is really frustrating.

Guitar Apps for Beginner

Does anyone know of any website, youtube or apps for beginner that is super easy to follow? I've downloaded Justin Guitar apps and watched a few YT videos but I am struggling to understand some of the explanations and am not progressing much, if at all in my quest to learn guitar. Lack of practice is probably one of the reason too which I need to improve on.

I know taking lessons would be best but I want to learn some basics first before actually join any class cos I want to gain a bit of confidence first. Maybe it has to do with my childhood phobia cos last time when I was young, my mother enrolled me in organ lessons and I was a slow student with a very impatient teacher who constantly hit the organ when I made mistakes .
Hi, I would like to find out is it possible to lay another layer of non slippery tiles for bathroom floor and not having to remove existing tiles below? My bathroom tile is the smooth type, hence gets slippery when it is wet. I had an accident recently when I was cleaning the bathroom so am thinking to add on another layer of rough tiles.

Any complications from this if it can be done and if let's say god forbid, my bathroom floor is causing leakages for unit downstairs. Please advise.
